How? I've tried, and with both up, you still lose around 1.5 (with all viable good conditions).
Granted, you can always run 1, and run another for a good chunk of time, but not always.

Bonuses are still nice though.
Have +3 stability and convert all heathens and heretics.

If you go revolutionary Catholic is quite bad BTW, only worth keeping for 1 faith at that point. Otherwise you get 0 papal influence and not much upside, while being able to freely convert to reformed without issue (declaration of indulgence + rev government + reformed base will give 3 heretic tolerance regardless of idea group choice, and you get bonuses for holding Rome rather than -1 diprep).

My vote goes Catholic, yes, the others look better on paper, but if you go full world conquest, guess how much mercantilism and stab you can get for free! Tons, and tons of it. No other religion offers you the same opportunity. My next would go to Orthodox because you can really power that up and get a lot of +monarch events and the odd great event even without religious ideas.

The others have some nice modifiers but nothing comes close to Catholic in my testing, it might lag a bit early, but normally by the time the others spawn I am farming multiple 100 Papal points per year and my mercantilism is shooting way up and my income allows me to do anything I want, of course there is a bit of conquest thrown in there to help.

Edit, that's the true power of Religious ideas for Catholics, the Papal points from converting quickly.

When trucebreaking becomes one of the limiting factors to conquest, Catholic is very legit. Not to mention that you're not necessarily sacrificing RCC due to much easier hofgericht.

I'd argue the psychological tedium is the most limiting factor in a World Conquest game. Constant micro of refilling mercenaries and dealing with rebels attribute a huge chunk to it. Wouldn't then any religion that excel in both of these (orthodox with manpower & superb ToTF) be on top of the list?

Orthodox depends on conversions and will get its share of rebels in recent conquests during late game (you can take a huge number of provinces and are sitting on 100% OE at least). The conversions alone take multiple inputs/conversion. By the standards you say I'd argue all Islam variants, Fetish, Hindu, and Tengri are superior to Orthodox because these religions let you right click away the conversion interface and never deal with it, while having very few rebels (unless often going > 100%, probably less than Orthodox Byzantium with religious but not humanist). Maybe Confucian wins out on IRL hassle too, though harmonization gives you a kind of annoying early game.

Reformed can likely pull this too, since you have 100% unity from any Christian province, lots of trade companies, and -2 unrest from focus on stability (applies to all provinces, stacks with humanist/stab/theologian to allow heathen provinces a buffer even a bit > 100% OE).

If Orthodox confers any advantage in rebellions at all compared to those, it certainly isn't enough to cover thousands of conversions (open religious screen --> click province, hit enter is many thousands of inputs, spaced in between other stuff often forcing pauses).

I've mentioned it before myself in other threads. Even just going down the list with conversions is a lot more efficient than what you get from the diplomat macro builder, which got implemented first.

Same thing for stuff like "core all" button and the "grant province"/"add to client state" interfaces. I get that there were engine issues with implementing some of these, but these are DLC-gated, paid features that require thousands of inputs per game more than necessary if they adopted decent conventions the game already uses elsewhere. I can't agree with the decision to de-emphasize player experience to the extent some of these things operate.
