Forget all of this talk. I'm ready to put it to the test! I'm emailing Bush and asking him to declare war on the EU nations. I guess that's the best way to find out.

Well, on second thought, we'd just see how well tanks stand up against an A-10. Oh well. ;)

Beat that. :)

No machineguns or track completed yet. No drive sprockets, either.

You do not need that, the best weapon against american are the americans themsleves. Better then all of the tanks in the world, not as fast but certainly as lethal.

Cool tank Cdat, is it based on a working model or jsut something new....?

Do I get insulted?

Trying to make an M1 out of wood with metal highlights. Every door, lid, hatch, moving part on the exterior actually works.

Main wood used = Zebrawood. Very dense and Hard. Dulled two tablesaw blades doing the original cuts.

Cdat: did not want ot insult you, I just can not recognize an M-1 if it is standing in my own livingroom.

i do not see the difference between an M1 and a scherman (well I can tell you the m-1 is deffinintely too damn big for a sherman but what it is....)

So no, it was no insult at all.

BTW: this is my abasolutely favorite tank...

Sorry, never saw it. Tank movies have a tendency to upset me. Since they're kinda fake and all.

Consider yourself lucky. That movie was pretty um, hmm, bad is not a good term for it but I wouldnt recomend it. There is mutated kangaroo people who attack some factory guards, that should give you a nice picture of how the movie is  .

The movie is indeed not that good but hey, it is a movie based on a comic....

No, what was so cool about it was the fancied up tank they used in it, might be the best tank ever....

A possible Russian contender for the titel as "Best Tank"
image004.jpg

beagle.l.jpg

beagle.f.jpg

Object 640 (Black Eagle, T-80UM2?). The future Russian MBT, based on the present T-80UM MBT, but with a new re-designed all welded turret. It has an auto-loader, with its ammo stored in the turret bustle to the rear, like in modern western Tanks. That way is the 3 man crew separated from the ammo, un-like present day Russian Tanks, which have its ammo stored under the turrt floor. The auto-loader is a complete re-design that will allow the main gun to fire long-rod APFSDS ammo, something that hasnt been been possible in earlier designs...

The Tank has an intergraded thermal-vision sight for both the Commandor and the gunner, which are fully stabilized like the main gun, enabling the Tank to fire on the move and Commandor to engaged a new target while the gunner still is engaging the first target, system similar to the CITV on the M1A2...

The front 120 degree of the turret is protected by intergraded blocks of Kontakt-5 ERA and steep slope of the forward armor plates, with the Russian version of Chobham armor, giving it a high level of protection against HEAT rounds and long-rod APFSDS ammo...

The chassis of the "Black Eagle" is a lengthened T-80UM hull with 7 roadwheels per side. Although the final version most likely will be useing the standard T-80UM hull, as it will be easier to up-grade the existing fleet of T-80UM's that way...

The gun will most likely still be the standard 125mm gun, although an up-grade to a newer 135mm gun is possible...

It is believe that this new tank will see active service sometime in 2005 or 2006...

What tank it is?

Note: I had to hide name written on the turret...

That aint no Sherman, look at the tracks.

Personally, I have no clue. I had my dad take a look at it. He's spent the last 60 years studying military equipment. He says it looks most like a Firefly.
