So what is generally the best religion for nomads?

Since they can easily change religion with concubines and their provinces automatically convert it is far easier to pick whatever religion you want...if you decide you do want to change.

You could go Tengri, but it really doesn't matter which way you go for your nomadic empire. Nomads care less about religion than their counterparts.

You would care for steppe call because
30000+ and 75%" on invasion.
50% and 5000/15000 on subordination
2500/10000 on subjugation.
And invasion is only worthwhile cb.

Of course it doesn't matter when you conquered half the map but until you start rolling it can save decades of getting population.

Plus in the early game you will be spamming light cav and tengri gives a 30% bounus to offence and defence

What about unorthodox option - one of christian/islamic branches? Sure, as a nomad, you won't be able to join Hermetics, but you will have access to all warrior lodges of bordering religions as well as nomad-connected Tengri WL (assuming that you aren't zealous).

Did you even read my post? You cant summon steppe hosts if you're not tengri.
And any reformed pagan religion is much much better since you can get rid of nomadic succession, and if you aim to become immortal there is unlimited stats with stability.
Whole pagan shtick is tradeoff "power for stability" that does not affect Nomads at all.

I was answering OP, not you. Your suggestion offers stable nomad state with buffs for characters. My suggestion offers possibility to join all warrior lodges (and collect bloodlines from legends) without changing religion over and over again.

Op asked "what is generally the best religion for nomads?" and your answer makes absolutely no sense.
And any religion is eligible for joining any warrior lodge that way, but they are unable to utilize its special ability reserved to right religion.

You can't join pagan WL if your religion already has one. And reformed Tengri has sense only if OP wants to expand - but since he does consider other religions, he deserves explanation.
My answer makes sense if he plans to utilize nomadic state to something other than map painting.

sunni or catholic or heresy that has overtaken it in peace. convert to defensive pagan for war time.

christians get a lot of artifacts that boost income. catholic for baptisms, crownings, chance to join crusade, society that gives stewardship. sunni because of imfideltax and school converttraits.between various other religions to get their unique traits and modifiers (romuva/slavic/african and bon/khurmazta/taoist and indian religions) i thinkithat hinduism uses the same deity system with the first 3 dedensive pagans. thi settle for defensive pagans for that 80 defense bonus on land of your religion.

sorry for gramatical miwtakes, autocorrect keeps correcting...
