Tell us about your best slice of luck.

I was playing a GC as Morrocco and had a support limit of 11k, and was trying to wrest the African goldmines off Benin who had swallowed everything. I got a random weapons manufactory that added 5k to the support limit which was just what I wanted :D , a couple of days after the DOW. Beautiful timing.

Just happened in my game playing Austria: In 1535 Hungary annexed Poland which I inherited shortly thereafter of course. :)
Of course, this much luck had to have a downside and this appeared when France annexed Lithuania in 1545 just when I had positioned my armies in the west for a strike against France (I mainly want Liguria). And I certainly can't afford the BB of taking Lithuania back from them again if I want to kick them in the west (not anytime soon anyway). Maybe I could, I just don't want to be hated throughout the world in the middle of the 16th century. :(

Nice big white blob though, isn't it. :D

Nice BWB :)

Nice to see Norway free!

Wicked to see Spain in Wales...

Wicked to see France so big...

And how did the pope get so big?
I even took Hellas, Morea and Thrace from the pope. IIRC the whole thing happened because Tuscany annexed Modena and Byzantium and then the Papal States annexed Tuscany, Naples and Siena.
The Knights own Anatolia btw. :) Weird game, As Austria I didn't get anything from Burgundy because France had annexed them already.

Not luck really, but I've found that the best "cheat" is to send a Marshall (sp?) to a province that is being besieged by somebody else when that province is about to fall.
I was playing the Knights once when I saw that the Ottomans where about to conquer Constantinople. I DoWed on Byzantium and sent there the Great Master of the Order and 1000 infantry soldiers. The Ottomans conquered Constantinple for the Knights!  It was simply too good.

In a game as the OE, I noticed that England's substantial colonial empire had been hit by Civil War. I quickly slapped down a TP in Alaska; the defections took me down to the gold mines of Monterey, even though Monterey bordered Spain. In that game I must have had over a dozen provinces defect to me in North America alone, and I only discovered the New World in the 1640s. Also in that game in the 18th century Spain let Mexico revolt - Pagan Mexico! I'll take care of that, if you don't mind ;)

I once got a nice bit of luck with England. I had wrested Kaffa and Kerch from Genoa, and didn't know what to do with them. I decided to take the russian empire out, attacking from crimea and baltic, to take some baltic states, and if possible Novgorod. I shipped armies. Russia did have a long war with Poland, and had bad stability. Many revolts sprayed over their territory. The whole thing lasted for over two years. Their government never fell, a lot of minors sprang up, and I got all nearly all ukrainia, golden horde, uzbeck, and a few provinces in the baltic, all the way from Danzig and Kurland (that I owned earlier) to Ingermanland. I also diploannexed (often after force-vassalization) some minors (Novgorod, Pskov, Tver). No war with Great Mother Russia. Bad luck for them. And for Poland, since it was my second-choice target. :D

Napoleon died randomly before he was about to fight my main army which he would have killed!
The real luck would be the death of Gustavus Adolphus. :D
He once destroyed three of my armies, each in the 60k-70k with best morale and better tech, with only 25K, and once attacking through a river. In three months, I lost some 120.000k troops to him, reducing his army to a mere 19k. :(
It's my worst piece of bad luck.

But Napo being just in the second rank (just before Gustav Adolphus), you may call yourself a VERY LUCKY guy. ;)

So far in this game (as England) it was France declaring war on my vassal Provence, with their dangerous general Foix about to link up with the main French army... but Foix was on his own with less than 1000 men as he passed next to my own army - I detached the cavalry, stamped on the little force and killed Foix. We won the war.

The Knights own Anatolia, Macedonia, Rhodes and Malta? Why is their capital (or it looks to be) in Anatolia?

Who is that greenish country that owns most of Anatolia?
The Knights don't own Macedonia, that's the pope there (their capital is on Malta). :)
And KwangTiger is right, that greenish country is Karaman.

The best piece of luck for the rest of the world was when I was playing as the Mongols (in the cool new scenario) and Dhengiz Khan was killed two months after apearing subdueing a small rebellion in a minor border province.

Bad luck for me, good luck for them.

Good Luck: Brandenburg, 1419, when Poland asks me to join their alliance with Lithuania and Pommern (instead of crushing me like a bug)

I played a hands off game from 1419 in latest Beta, where the Papal States swallowed large parks of modern Turkey. Even more strange however was that the OE survived and moved further east and south, with their only western province being Constantinople.
