All four of these are very worthy contenders for the top honor. But I voted for Amric's Strassburg tale for its exemplary and horrifying megalomania. I'm sure Scott is really a very nice person once you get to know him.

Congratulations to all the writers in this category. Reading stories like these reassures me in my humble normality. :D

I voted, but this seemed like a much smaller list than the original list of Nominees. How come the list was shortened to just four?

I vote for Amric's Strassbourg tale. He shows in a nice way how to be a megalomaniacal conqueror starting with a tiny country, with a great writing even featuring some characterization, and one can also, in fact, learn how to be a good conqueror by reading it. It was a very pleasant reading, just like the others also were. But this is my favourite.

I try and trim the polls to 4-5 each time. If I had ten nominees in the poll (and there were plenty of worthy nominees for this category), it would be too hard for anybody who hasn't read them all to plow through that much material. (Of course, the last poll was a Best of the Best so that one included all the winners, for example, so there are exceptions.)

:)

Well, that was a very tough choice, I must say. I have made my pick though and thankfully, each tale did not find me trying to plow through 30 pages which made reading through them all in short order a somewhat easier task.

My choice eventually went to the one that maintained the best storyline throughout, though I must say the Prof's was very good - if only he had finished the bugger. That subtracted for me at least.

Still, most inpressive for all you gents! Hat's off as WC and megalomania do not seem to find themselves in my games or stories (much). :D

Hmmm. I really ought to finish that AAR. I have been out of action AAR-wise for 4-5 months now due to work, but if ever there was a good excuse for goofing off long enough to write the last chapter.... I still have the screenshots and notes lying around somewhere.

...Though that would mean losing any chance of beating Havard's Knights AAR for the prize of longest ongoing and most infrequently updated AAR for good, though. Decisions, decisions....

Here's another vote for Amric's Strassburg, by the way. Truly enjoyable reading. :)

You really should finish it, Peter. And I do thank you for the vote. Having a grand master such as yourself in that genre enjoy my story is very gratifying. Although I think you are going to win this one going away.

51 votes so far. Much better than the OscAAR votations we were having some months ago, but it still could be better! So, if you haven't voted yet... VOTE!
