If you are going for WC, you can simply drown the opposition in numbers, you dont need any military ideas at all.WC ideas, in other words "expansion" ideas: Administrative (reduce coring costs), Exploration (2 colonizer, colonial CB, conquistadors & explorers), Expansion (overseas CB, colonizer), Influence (reduce diplo-annexation costs, reduce envoy travel time, reduced claim fabrication time, increased IA where applicable, reduced AE).
Special case: Religious. Helps a LOT due to the CB, and to convert your conquered provinces faster.
Everything else is completely situational.
