As the title says, I'm actually playing as the Byzantine Empire and I'm about to transition from Orthodoxy to Hellenism (had to wait to convert Russia, so Orthodoxy doesn't dissapear after I leave, and to bring Sunni MA to 0), and currently have 4 Great Works:

-Hagia Sophia (What will happen to it after I leave Orthodoxy?)
-Mausoleum of Halikarnassos
-Lighthouse of Alexandria
-Something on Bagdad (renamed Ctesiphon)

As you can see, I've yet to invade Nothern Italy. Karlings were strangely friendly, and I didn't want to attack them until other dinasty came into power, and surprise: the Ludolfinger rule now a HRE that soon will be little more than Germany, Saxony and Bohemia.

Back to the point, my current demesne is:
-Thrake (Constantinople, Gallipolli, Thrake)
-Adrianople (Adrianople, Maroneia, Traianopolis, Philippopolis)
-Abydos (Abydos, Lesbos, Kyzikos)
-Antiocheia
-Alexandria
-Ctesiphon (Bagdad)

and I plan to grab Latium once I take nothern Italy. What will happen to the Pope's Palace once I capture the city?

And, which Great works should I put on my Empire? Aside my demesne, I have the whole Balkans (including Hungary and Wallachia), Anatolia, Armenia, Georgia, the Levant, Egypt, Mesopotamia, Southern Italy, Hispania, and North Africa up to Tangiers.

I would like to have a Garden, a Library and a University, albeit I think that I'll save the later two to somewhere on Italy, probably Firenze or Milan. Nothing will be put on Venice, now reduced to a secondary posession of an Amalfitan Doge. I also want something put on Antioch, and on Esztergom probably a fort, like Komarom's one.

? It's not like the Ecumenical Patriarch, the Varangians, or the Holy Sepulchre disappear when you convert. Orthodoxy will still exist regardless of Russia. No need to handicap your plans to spread this to Russia for whatever reason.
