Prussian Constitutionalism is the best government, because it has the word "Prussian" in it.
Clearly.

The rest of you are just subjective.

SC just increases the factory owner cost. Your pops can still expand them themselve.
State capitalism:
Code:
pop_build_factory = yes
pop_expand_factory = no

Interventionism:
Code:
pop_build_factory = yes
pop_expand_factory = yes

If capitalists are expanding factories in your Fascist country (I just checked; all Fascist parties are State Capitalist), something is bugged.

I'm sure one could write a lengthy treatise on how a game like this could provide an excellent prism to view the dynamics of power and its relation to government and the people. Where one can actually somewhat reflect on the power and game of the elites from their perspective.

Interesting... I'll keep that in mind if I ever go for a master's degree haha

I meant medieval in the sense that the economy was based on serf agricultural labor, of course they had modern technology, I meant from a economic and societal prospective

Russia was probably on track toward being an industrial power house with or without the Bolshevik five year plans. Look at their ship-building industry: after their fleet was wiped out in 1905 during the Russo-Japanese War, in the space of ten years they built four pre-dreadnought battleships and eight dreadnoughts. Nothing to shake a stick at compared to British, German and American shipbuilding, but comparable to French and Japanese ship construction at the time.

On topic: Me gusta HM's Government. I like being able to switch to a conservative or reactionary government if my stupid pops elect a laissez-faire government before I've properly industrialized. Yeah, it pisses them off, but it's nice to not be forced to accept their silly, wrong opinions on economic matters :)

Anarcho-Capitalism!
Yay!

But it's sort of sad we can't simulate that in game. I guess we could have a bourgeois dictatorship, 0% taxes, 0% spending, no armies, and just do nothing, but then we don't get all the nice trappings of an ancap society (polycentric law, private education, friendly societies, etc.). I've always assumed that the "bourgeois dictatorship" is a collection of polycentric legal agencies, courts, and property protection organizations, and that all the "taxes" aren't actually taxes, but just simulate aggregate expenditures on those sorts of things.

It's sort of sad that some anarcholiberal parties (I'm looking at you, Sinn Fein...) are interventionist though, so we could never have ancap Ireland (which is probably the ONLY TIME I'll say that the fact that we can't have an ancap country is "not historically accurate" - Ireland had polycentric law and a form of market anarchism until the 1600s, but that's not simulated in game :( ). I don't think France does either (aren't the liberals and radicals both interventionist or something? Despite the Jacobins originally being laissez-faire, historically, and all the Physiocrats/many classical economists coming from France...).

It's weird seeing all the nations in Europe retain really conservative populations and stay (mostly absolute) monarchies (though I saw Prussia turn bourgeois once, and France too), while Latin America, southeast Asia, and some parts of Africa become hotbeds for Rothbardians.

EDIT: I wish bourgeois dictatorships got their own flags... or at least got a black-and-yellow rebel flag (... maybe they shouldn't be able to war with other bourgeois dictatorships?). There are potentially so many awesome flags we could create for anarcholiberals.

I just want my commie flag.

However I tend to RP a bit so generally I try to simulate the best for that roleplaying.

Each government generally has some strengths and some weaknesses and it is dependant on the situation in which you find yourself in as to what will yield the best results for you.

by the way: what happens to your capitalist and Aristocrats in a proletarian dictatorship Nation?

the Socialist and Comunist whanted to remove Social class (yeah right must be easy) but in the game what happens?
do they just not spend anything and do nothing? do they leave your country or demote to something else?

How did you pull that off! I've been trying to do that with the CSA, even got the reactionaries in power, but to no avail.
My game was a very belligerent US. I went to war with Mexico in,like, 1845 (I already had all my cores - I was eating into their territory at this point), then attacked UK for Ontario... France and Spain got involved, somehow (was basically a weak, 1840s America vs the rest of the world).

It dragged out for 4 or 5 years (also, the Civil War started at some point during these years - it was a pretty rough time for God's chosen nation... I'm also pretty sure the game is coded to not allow the civil war to occur during war time, but for some reason it still triggered?), in which I occupied all of Mexico and all of Canada (wiping out both respective armies and repulsing an invasion from the UK). My militancy was massive (mostly because of blockades from the UK), and, somehow, I got a couple of reactionary rebellions in DC (I didn't bother stopping them - had neither the men nor the inclination to keep a democracy), so I got to be an absolute monarchy.

Not sure about turning them commie... probably just resist any social reforms and yeah, make conditions pretty bad in your country for the poor (cause high unemployment? Idk). Most people are conservative if they get what they want, so doing this will cause socialism. I think socialism with high militancy turns into communism, and socialism with really high militancy forms Red Guards.

As far as the classes go, I'm honestly not sure. I THINK that nothing actually happens. I'm not sure how having a planned economy interacts with capitalists (do they just all get unemployed or something?), but that would not be the case if you had a state capitalist communist party (these exist, and, if your commie gov't is state cap, your caps will operate as usual).

I'm fairly sure aristocrats are business as usual under communism.

Since HoD I have to say my favorite economic policy now is State Capitalism. Most of the benefits of having no control over your factories have been removed for LF.

H(er/is) Majesty. HM's Government is the government you get if you're a monarchy and you have Universal or Weighted Universal suffrage and Non-Secret Ballots or Secret Ballots voting rights.

Also are the political parties the same for each country? (I.e are liberials in Germany the same as liberals in Japan or Ireland?)
No. Germany even has multiple liberal parties (with different policies) available simultaneously.

For the life of me i can't find what HM and HMS stand for. Could someone help me out?

HM is His (or Her, depending on who is on the throne) Majesty. So the HM's Government is His/Her Majesty's Government, and HMS is His/Her Majesty's Ship.

Also are the political parties the same for each country? (I.e are liberials in Germany the same as liberals in Japan or Ireland?)

Most parties are broadly speaking the same, but frequently will differ on some issues. So it is *likely* that, say, a liberal party will be Laissez Faire in whatever country you choose, but the military policies for the liberal party might be more varied from country to country.

I generally most like Constitutional monarchy, because I usually play greater powers and don't want to bother building my own factories... and the stupid pops usually choose interventionism or worse (note: germany has a LF conservative party, so there democracy would probably be fine too) which then has to be offset by switching to a liberal or anarcho-liberal party.
