Hi!
To support Your work in the best possible manner, i assume that it's financially better for Paradox if we buy our games via gamersgate instead of buying via amazon?

Newegg is the cheapest I've seen in $ but I bought from Amazon because I want a hard copy and I threw in a couple other things I needed to get the free shipping though Newegg offering free shipping as well.

If you don't care about hard copy then Gamersgate is the best I think.

Even if GG were owned by Paradox, its not like there wouldn't be inherent costs to the digital download. Paradox has to pay their webguys, they have to pay the ISP for the website, there's costs involved in maintaining and running the servers, any issues that arise would also necessitate costs (overtime, new server hardware, etc)...not saying Paradox makes zero money on digital downloads via GG but neither do they print money. Without knowing what sort of financial contracts they have with Steam and other digital download companies they're offering HoI3 thru, I can say definatively that digital >>> retail copies in net monies gained.

Of course, I prefer to see HoI3 sold in as many avenues as possible for maximum exposure. Heck, Johan should be shilling copies on the street! :p

I wish I could buy the whole development team a vacation to Hawaii or the Carribean but that would cost a lot of money and probably make me bankrupt. Paradox deserves something though for their hard work.

I'm fairly sure they are going to profit quite well, get the best deal for yourself. After all there are still at least a couple of expansion packs in the future.

LMAO :p
It would be cool to see videogames being sold literally on the street though i doubt we`ll ever see it especially for a game as HOI3,maybe if it was GTA 5.

I don't have to leave my home to order from Amazon, either, plus that way I get a *physical copy*, which (unless someone knows better) I wouldn't get from Gamersgate.

I have my pre-order in with Amazon; I don't mind the small delay since it'll give me more time to play "War in the Pacific: Admiral's Edition" first. ;)

Well, at least here you would have to leave home to get the package from post office. (Until you are willing to spill some extra money).

Is this generally because the price is higher?

Currently Amazon.co.uk has HOI3 for GBP25 (€30), whereas gamersgate is €40. (though amazon.at is €45).

I think digital is definately the future, but when the games on GG, Steam etc are more expensive than in the shop and frankly less accessible it is hard to justify the expense.

When Armageddon came out, I purchased it, but then had to drag my PC into work to install it (my home is very low tech and has no Internet).

Reason why new games bought through digital disruption have same or higher price than when bought through normal stores, is because no normal store would take any products to their shells if it is easily acquirable with cheaper price through digital disruption.
