Wow. Thank you so much, @Dunaden! I realised after my playthrough that they worked on so many different levels: as an intercultural / interracial romance; as complementary 'opposites-attract' personalities; as childhood sweethearts who just kept right on sticking by each other to the end, despite a couple of hiccoughs. I was worried actually that they might be boring, but I'm really glad folks found Botta and Czenzi relatable.
And thank you also to @Idhrendur (doubly so for reading and commenting!), @Nikolai, @stnylan, @Bullfilter, @HistoryDude, @Midnite Duke (doubly so for being a regular readAAR / commentAAR!) and @El Pip!
... Now I've got to start being more of a readAAR myself, and look for some well-written charactAARs before Monday!

A'ight, it's Monday. Time to hand off!
Again, thanks to @Dunaden for nominating Botta and Czenzi for the character showcase. I had a pretty strong attachment to these two characters in particular. It was something of a challenge to play as a pacifist king, and he was lucky to have a loyal diplomatic wife at his side.
But now ...
The character-writAAR I want to recognise this week is @Von Acturus for his characters Zoe, Kuylur and Gnn' from Shattered Glass: a Narrative Stellaris AAR. The way VA manages to exposit the complex political plotting of the mechanicist, bioticist and religious factions from the perspectives of three of the 'grunts' in the war, zooming in on the warped psychology of the agents (Zoe in particular) and the strains on their relationships from that, is particularly admirable. It can be difficult to maintain sympathy for fanatics or for people who become willing tools of political causes. But Von Acturus manages this in a consistently strong way. Congrats, VA, step up and take a bow!

Thank you @Revan86!! It's an honour to receive this award. I was kind of unsure about how well I managed to make the audience empathise with Zoe and Gnn' and if I had not maklde Kuylur too cartoonish, so seeing them nominated here, by you no less, is a big confidence boost! Much appreciated!!

What an excellent choice, Shattered Glass is a wonderful work and the characters are more than worthy of this award, even if some are utter idiots (*glares at Borza*).
