Nothing in this new dlc, nothing whatsoever, not the factions, not the ending of the schism, not the restoration of the Roman Empire, can compare to the awesomeness that is the event chain involving the charriot races between the greens and blues, and where you decide to cheat.

The fact that it ended with my emperor standing on his balcony, watching Constantinople burn because his attempts to cheat failed screaming "ANAXIMANDROS!" made me chuckle.

Now, here's what happened: The Ostrogoths at first hammered the puny little romans, but a freak accident involving an overly sized sausage, 2 bags of bread, a gold horn and an ancient sword, changed the cause of history, forcing the Ostrogoths to completely tear down rome, before evacuating to the north. This in turn destablished the entire christian society, which in turn made people look to science as their salvation. This eventually had the consequence of humanity inventing faster than the speed of light travel. This might seem like a good thing, but unfortunately this caught the attention of the borg collective, whose invasion of earth is to commence on the 21st of December 2012.

I doubt that those chains are linked to the increase stat ambitions.

So far I've seen the Pirates chain (Intrigue) and the Chariot rigging chain (Martial). But they both had byzantine flavour, and those ambitions are available to anyone.
