Just happened on a random mission,

decided to take out the atlas first, took precisionstrikes from 2 mechs to take off it's left leg, but guess what... that pilot was a solarisIV veteran since he shrug it off and just got... unsteady. next shot though brought him down but hell, my 10/10/10/10 pilots always get knocked down upon loosing a leg, still rookies it seems .)

Did he fall over or what? Because leg destroyed is an automatic knockdown, not just making them unsteady.

Or have I been thinking of it all wrong?

The stability/knockdown-system seems kinda bugged. It's not to bad, but occasionally I see enemies not loosing initiative upon (repeated) knockdowns, gaining evasive from moving while still being unsteady - and I think I too had a case where I legged a mech but it didn't tip over, not totally sure about that

I have had this happen once as well, where I legged a mech but it stayed standing. I have also noticed that repeated knockdowns seem to INCREASE initiative occasionally. Like a heavy will get knocked down two turns in a row, then on turn three it gets to stand up and move in initiative 3, or even 4 with a piloting AI mechwarrior.

So I'm not crazy this does happen

Where did you get the portrait art for Ronin?

Ronin is a special Mechwarrior that you can find. She is one of the Kickstarter backers that pledged enough to be in the game. See https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...ed-mechwarrior-rook-deadeye-mcwraith.1092116/ and https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...-mechwarriors-procedurally-generated.1075618/

As well as the Kickstarter backers there are also "Ronin" pilots (the ones that were playable in the beta). Both of these types of MechWarrior can be seen in the Hiring Hall with a little extra icon next to their name.
