Playing Japan '36 in Vanilla DD v1.1 on Normal/Normal

Suddenly all my (300 in total) escort ships dissappear and for some reason building more doesn't increase it at all. They weren't sunk because I am not at war.

Has anyone encountered this problem before?

And why the hell is there no search facility in the forums to search for past threads?

Search is gone because of server load.
People just use this board too much .

did they disappear after declaring war?
In peacetime escorts aren't used so you'll stockpile any that you build.
When you declare war all escorts needed are remeoved from the stockpile.
Seems you need more than 300 escorts.

I was at war with Nat China but I am now at peace.

And no there are no convoy escorts assigned to any of my convoy routes. They have just simply vanished. I can no longer build anymore either.

I was kinda of hoping someone else has had this problem before.

I'm playing with United States and U.S Navy lost 7 Aircraft Carriers in the coast of Bermuda and then I was still peace with Allies. Maybe aliens are involved :rofl:

What do you mean by that? Has the button to build them disappeared as well?

Did you update to 1.1 on a game you started in 1.0?

When I build them I get the message that they have been built but when I go to find them I am told I have no convoy escorts either in the pool or deployed on a convoy route.

It is a 1.1 game from start to finish.

I have played numerous DDv1.1 games and have never encountered this problem before (although this is my first go at Japan).

Does "Convoy Sailing Doctrine" show as green (already researched) on your Naval Doctrines screen? What does your Tech Overview page say about Convoy Escorts?

EDIT: Have you tried turning off Auto-Convoy, cancelling ALL of your Convoy routes, letting it run one day, then turning on Auto-Convoy and letting them all re-form again?

Another vanishing act is disapering aircraft

Dosn't really matter what country I play nor theatre I fight in every time entire 4 div squadrons disaper when I am 100 % sure they have not been totaly destroyed or had their airfield occupied.

This is something that happens from time to time, though I've never heard about it with escorts. Search was enabled recently and was just taken off again.

This vanishing aircraft thing is a serious bug. I have seen it happen to me in about every game of Doomsday. They never come back either.

I keep ending up with my aircraft in the strategic redeployment queue. Seems to happen every time I annex a country and my aircraft are busy over a province still controlled by the country that I am annexing. I really hadn't paid attention to whether or not I've lost aircraft to other events. Just thought I'd share the one thing I have noticed.

It has nothing to do with DD, it is a HoI issue, it has been around for a while.
