I'm not well versed in modding, so this will be pure conjecture on my part.
I think beside the new assets RT could benefit from the flashpoints themselves, the chained mission system they bring and possible community created scenarios using that framework.

@Konrad der Rote , modding isn't officially supported, so this sort of question does belong in the unsupported mod forum. Also, it doesn't even seem like you want an answer from HBS but rather you appear to be looking for what parts of the expansion are 'interesting' to mod developers. I wouldn't expect HBS to answer this sort of thing beyond "modding isn't officially supported".

The Flashpoints announcement as well as the dev diaries around it have clearly pointed out that the flashpoints are all JSON files that can be edited so that the flashpoints mechanic can be used to make new content. And beyond that the expansion has new mechanics (changes to the reputation system), new mechs (crab, hatchetman, cyclops), new maps (tropics with different terrain effects) and new mission types (target acquisition and the mechanics / objectives associated with it). Was there something more that you wanted to hear?

The short version of the answer is simply that it's too early to tell.

The flashpoint mechanic is a VERY big deal for making more interesting story mission mods possible, but the exact details aren't the sort of thing that makes it into press releases. Personally, I expect the code that allows flashpoints to be in the free 1.3 update. Once it drops, we can create mods using the new features and see how much of it works on a system without the expansion.

Edit: Oh, and we got a massive leg up on modding the base game because we had access to the backer beta release... nothing of the sort is expected to be available before release (which is quite reasonable, I'd say), so ALL the information we get about modding details will have to wait until November 27th.

So not even an answer, just shoved away to an unsupported forum. Fair enough, I'll avoid Paradox products from now on.
Wait a minute... looking at the timestamps, you waited just slightly more than two and half hours for a response and then ran off in a tiff because you didn't get an answer?

Seesh. Like the devs have NOTHING better to do than hit "refresh" on the forums.

As title, what advantages does the coming expansion offer the developers of RogueTech and other mods to implement new features?

Aside from the creation of Flashpoints themselves (which should have a tool available to create them with), the modders would be the ones that would know best about what Flashpoint offers to RogueTech, but only once it's available. Getting angry about the thread being moved to a more topically appropriate place where the question posited could be answered in due time...is not helpful at all.
