Benefits of being a physician?

Are there any? At least I didn`t notice any benefits.
I think I maybe should have higher chances to kill my liege, if I plot against him. Also maybe with a higher chance of being caught at it, as I am highly suspect.
Or maybe I should be able to accidently castrate him to prevent further members of that dynasty.

As a court physician my character got an event that let him ask his liege for money for medical research and as a result my character got +1 in learning (although it is not really the benefit you were asking about...)

You can if your liege appoints you physician.I haven't played as a vassal yet,but you can appoint someone physician using the honorary title button.

There's also the chance of obtaining the "renowned physician" trait. I can't recall she attributes given from it, but I think it was pretty nice.

As with most title positions, the biggest bonus is the monthly prestige. It's more than you think.

+1 prestige per month is equal to being appointed commander. And if you happen to be Court Physician, a Councillor AND a Commander (not unlikely if you're breeding very good rulers with high stats all around and/or in a smallish realm), that totals to 3.5 prestige a month alone before tech bonuses and other prestige sources. Even more if your liege offers you some honorary title for opinion.

That much prestige basically guarantees hitting exalted among men.
