Fair point. However, de facto it will be just that every time. And then Poland has to live with a vassal of the HRE who has de jure claims on territory that they are likely to own.
You can easily change that yourself with minimal knowledge of how the game works.
Open the landed_titles.txt with something like notepad++ and switch things around as you like.

Great mod, but whats the deal with legalism? Both the button for changing crown authority and the ledger shows legalism to be under one (blue star in ledger), even though all my counties have legalism one...

EDIT: And just to be sure: Legalism 1 is the req for min to med authority..?

I suppose you have unpacked the whole archive, not just the .mod files? Please provide a screenshot of your "Crusader Kings 2\mod" folder so I can have a look at the issue.

I think the blue star is supposed to show the current "ideal" tech level and it counts for the whole realm (de-jure kingdom?).

EDIT: And just to be sure: Legalism 1 is the req for min to med authority..?
Increasing from CA 1 to CA 2 (low to medium) requires legalism 1.
Increasing from CA 0 to CA 2 (none to medium) requires legalism 2.

Is this currently the only way to successfully run the mod, i.e. you can't pick and choose which parts you want to use?
Yes, the extension mod files are currently broken due to a minor spelling mistake.

I will revisit the extension system anyway, so you will have to live with the Status Quo for a few days.

I'm using this mod (Core, Council, Laws - don't care for extra kingdoms) and I'd like to suggest some modifications to the 'De Jure' map in France to... balance things out.

- eliminate the duchies of Bourbon and Valois
- replace Valois by Francia or Domaine Royal (Vexin, Ile de France, Chartres) - it annoys me the King is always at the mercy of some other feudal lord
- replace Bourbon by Picardie (Amiens, Boulogne, Guines, Artois)
- reduce Orléans to Orléans and Blois
- enlarge Champagne with Vermandois
- enlarge Auvergne with Bourbon, Limousin, La Marche (so a 5 counties Duchy in the center of France)
- enlarge Dauphine with Viviers

The above is what I'm using (modded Landed titles) with your mod.

Is it possible to merge the files from this mod with the resketched province mod?
As long as it does not use any files the BGA requires - sure.

Love the other parts of the mod but I am not very fond of been unable to fight Pagans. Takes a lot of fun out of the game when you play as a King.

What do I need to change in the mod to remove the part where you have to be a neighbour to declare war?

Love the mod so far - been playing with it exclusively since it came out. This and the Game of Thrones mod have my votes for first CK2 mod subforums. A few small balance issues and new mechanics I'd like to see fixed and added:

1) Tweak the pretender penalties a bit depending on where someone is in the line of succession, as well as depending on the type of succession law in place. and the age of the pretender. For primogeniture, say -50 for 1st in line of succession if its an adult, -35 for second, -20 if third. Maybe reduce each of these by half for when the pretender is between age 12-16, and get rid of it entirely for under age 12. Maybe also a slight reduction (say -5) for succeeding a parent, since those set to succeed a parent are typically more secure in their spot.

2) This is something paradox needs to fix as well, but a way to get rid of anti-popes in my own kingdom if I return to the pope? Only way I know to get rid of them at the moment is to upgrade them with the next title (bishop-count level), (count level -> duke level).

3) Probably quite a bit more difficult to do and something Paradox could add a little more elegantly, but perhaps using an event that fires every once in a while using as the "console" cheat that lets you marry someone off, a mechanic to have a hand in the selection of the spouse of minor children who you've already titled and who have left your court? It sucks having to choose between titling a minor child and losing the chance to marry him off later. You could always betroth him before he leaves your court, but that brings you much less flexibility should political situations change.

(1) That will require a LOT of events and modifiers, if it is possible at all. FYI, firstborn sons are already treated different from other dynasty members when it comes to succession laws.

(2) Could be done by an event chain, but antipops are quite cheesy anyway. Low priority, hoping that Pdox will fix it. x(

(3) Would also require a lot of work. Pdox stuff.

And:
1.4 will be out soon, still tweaking a new siege event, but doubt it will be ready in time. x(

hello.your mod looks good playing for a while.germany and france are somewhat landlocked except some pieces at spain and jerusalem but that happened mostly from crusades and romans seem to behave normally.no weird red colours in cumans and russia, great improvement from vanilla i must say gj.i want to ask 3 questions. 1. why france and germany doesn't fall apart like romans do.they should fall apart at some point in civil war being so large countries. 2. can you guys raise the claim title chances.i always try to play a low count and with this patch by the time i fabricate 2 counties i am always old and someone(probably my liege) assasinates me 3. sry for the noob question, how can i change it so revoking titles from rebel vassals doesn't give me penalties?i don't get it why must everyone hate they 're liege because he throw in the dungeon a traitor and took he's lands. keep the good work

I feel like the piety cost for assassinations leads to some counterintuitive consequences. It means that if you're sort of a scumbag, you can't murder people, because you need at least 50 piety to do an assassination. I can definitely see assassinating someone causing me to lose piety, but I can't see the reasoning behind a minimum piety requirement, like a hired killer won't work with me unless I'm a good enough Christian.
