Heck its the Dark ages...people didnt care about claims they just took what they wanted. I would prefer a system like in EU3 where you could take what you wanted but would be faced with angry neighbours, an angry pope and REALLY angry former owners.

The dark ages /= the medieval ages. The law was very important to the nobility and to the church; it what was cemented their control on Europe.

Yeah, Dominus, exactly. If your liege flaunted the law between kings, who's to say he wouldn't flaunt the law and steal your holdings?

I do think, however, pagans should have a casus belli for conquering each other similar to the Holy War. Tribal warfare or something.

A tribal CB would be cool, sure its not in game because paradox did not mean for pagans to be played yet.

Just a idea, was wondering if it you can mod it so that when a count or a duke dies with no dynastic heir that the lands would go to the de jure holder, like if a count dies his lands would go to the de jure duke or if a duke dies without a dynastic heir the titles would go to the de jure king if their is one.

Want this because I see so many counties being picked up in strange ways because of the way it is now :( I have dukes owning counties all over because of this strange system and its making my kingdom look strange :)

I think the advisor jobs need to shifted back towards vanilla levels. Right now, it seems giving an advisor a job almost always does more harm than good. Also, with female advisors, the matrilineal marriage exploit has now become the regular marriage exploit.

Absolutely loving it so far, GAGA. :)

Voting laws now has become an experience in politics. Just to vote a Small Feudal Taxation as Denmark I had to bribe my opponents and give them Titles, positions, and bribes to gain their support so that it barely passes majority.

Agree but at least right now you're paying a slight penalty for female chancellors.

Overall there seems to be a reduction in the availability of 20+ advisors which is a good thing.

It helps even if you're not playing them, if you want pagans to not just sit there until Christendom comes crusading. :p Obviously it takes tweaking - warrior cult + unlimited expansion could be dangerous - but I'd love to see someone figure out how to get the balance right.

Can something be done about Denmark? :(

Without the Holy War CB Denmark is more or less condemned to non-expansion, doing nothing until he gets a CB on Lubeck so that he can declare war, or finds a way to create the Duchy of Holstein.

Are you going to return Core and Extensions system? Or is there any easy way to remove all new empires from the mod? I like your balance changes but dont like all these empires...
Yes. Once the core feature are implemented and balanced accordingly.

Did you fix this one in a newer version than 1,4?
One ambition is just named }_title
If so what do you need to change? I would rather not lose my savegame but its really annoying getting those "Prince Svend wants to }" all the time.
Yes. You need to change objectives.txt, event_modifiers.txt, opinion_modifiers.txt and the localisation file.

Since they're being added everywhere else, and it is a historic empire (albeit not a Christian one), what about a Persian Empire combining the de jure kingdoms of Persia and Mesopotamia?
Thought about that, yes.

I doubt thtat this is possible with the current system.

I think the advisor jobs need to shifted back towards vanilla levels. Right now, it seems giving an advisor a job almost always does more harm than good. Also, with female advisors, the matrilineal marriage exploit has now become the regular marriage exploit.
A slight shift from base stat 10 to base stat 6 might solve the problem.
And: Care to elaborate? The AI seems very reluctant to accept a matrial marriage of any unimportant character.

Absolutely loving it so far, GAGA. :)
Voting laws now has become an experience in politics. Just to vote a Small Feudal Taxation as Denmark I had to bribe my opponents and give them Titles, positions, and bribes to gain their support so that it barely passes majority.
I think that hasn't changed too much, at least for kingdoms.
But as emperor, I finally had to give some baronies away to my dukes so they would support my crown law increase for a succession law reform. That was quite fun. :)

Can something be done about Denmark? :(
Without the Holy War CB Denmark is more or less condemned to non-expansion, doing nothing until he gets a CB on Lubeck so that he can declare war, or finds a way to create the Duchy of Holstein.
If it is possible to check for water provinces, I might be able to allow the holy war CB to be used a single ocean province.
Another solution could be to allow ducal-title claims on pagans via the chancellor without the skill 15 requirement.

The chance is lower, and a LOT! My chancellor's skill is 19 and i have bit over 5% yearly chance of fabricating a claim. Which used to be like 10% with 13 skill. So unless i get a chancellor with 50 skill it wont really "scale better".
See above.

best mod I've used so far I reckon.

I have tweaked (in 1.6) stuff like battle risk, prisoners, cranked up the relations hit for crown authority hikes to make it harder for the AI to hold together its empires every time a great leader dies etc.
Also tweaked prestige for battles up a bit, warscores calculated sooner, revolt risks higher, vassal troops modifiers lower (so they need to like you a lot to give you lots of levies) and made them get mad much sooner when you have them raised (30 days until they start to moan). Also tweaked morale here and there, sieges are a bit longer, relations whacks for dow allies and religious denders is now epic etc.

Yeah that is why I prefer the mod with vanilla CBs. By the time you get a claim so you can get acess to expansion the Holy Roman Empire and Poland has already taken it all.

Firstly: Awesome work and mod!

Secondly: What comes to my mind is the following: Playing as Georgia, you are surrounded by pagans/muslims. But if you conquer a muslim's land, there are built mosques but it makes no different. Would it be possible to change that? So that mosques give "convert x to islam" and churches would give "convert x to christianity" so that you would have to destroy the church? (Dunno if that's possible though...)

Shouldn't building names adjust once you have converted the province religion?

And:
Bad luck, scripted a few hours on an "alliance" CB, but can't get it to work. T_T

Oh, yeah, there's also the fact that conquering provinces destroys buildings when it shouldn't, with stuff like Warrior Cult etc.
Yes, I wanted to change that anyway. What exactly has to be done? Change the building requirements from owner to province culture?

i found a rather easy exploit of the "free imprisoned liege" event. As HRE I imprisoned the duchess of tuscany in her inevitable first rebellion if the first couple years. As i kept her in jail over the next couple decades, her hapless vassals, which she had many, tried to free her. The plots never came to be because i had my spymaster, never above a level 13, political appointees of course, on uncover plots in my capital province, the sight of my dungeon. every 6 months or so i would get free 25g to 70g bonuses from her vassals, bishops mostly, as i would imprison them for plotting against me and free them immediately. the multiple imprisonments over decades didn't affect my standing with anyone important, accept for the vassals of the duchess, which i didn't mind because the more they hated me the more they tried to free her, which meant the more "free" g i got.
Exploitive for sure and the only real default i have found with this brilliant mod to this brilliant game. I suggest a lower discovery rate on this plot or something, im sure u can figure it out :).

Yes, I noticed that the AI is too keen on using this plot and that this plot is discovered quite easily. No idea why, though.
I made it less likely for the AI to use the plot and added a cooldown.
