I know that when you start a new campaign you should always try to make your relations from day 1 with trading.

If you're going to go with Germany, make them love you, if you're Germany, try to get the most out of Soviets and America before war starts.

and I try my best, I really do.

Thing is, with my current campaign despite trying my best at the start I'm drastically running out of Rares, and not a single country is interested in selling them to me.

I'm playing as Greece, I've annexed Romania, Hungary, Croatia and Bulgaria, despite having all of this new land my rares are still depleting, It's kinda sad.

Sure having land lease from Germany doesn't help my need for more rares but I wouldnt have this problem if people were to trade with me.

Even Germany who grants me a land lease won't give me rares, same with Japan, Italy, and Sweden (who currently is making 17 a day)

What can I do to stop this from happening in future play through's?

You have to make your trades early as several things influence trade. As the game progresses nations typically will offer YOU trades when your in the red but not often while your in the green. If your Germany figure out exactly how much of a surplus you want in each item, and trade primarily with the UK/USA/Soviets and get it all done in the first six months of the game. Thats what i do and I usually am maxed or close. I try and keep the ratio 2-Energy-1 Metal-1/2 rare. So if it i have a surplus of 10 rares, i want at least a surplus of 20 metal and 40 energy....

Playing minors, again you need to get it done in the first few months. Sell supplies to the US & Soviets and buy resources. Dont worry about relations in order to get better deals, make max deals or at least for the amount you want. Its more important to get your stockpiles going then to worry about better prices. Money is easy to get and useless pretty much as the game goes on. If you try and do small trades to get better deals you may not be able to acquire the resources in volume you want.

you simply need better planing :)

it's obvious, that if you have N supplies used by an industry in basic mobilization, the N will be 2*N in war with "better" laws ... for instance, when I play as the germany I always stockpile something like 75k of rares before the war because sometimes there's no way to get what you need by trading .. especially if you were doing bad things (like conquesting innocent neighbours) :)

Also, conquest in Europe won't net you a ton of rares per day anyway. Short of conquering the Soviets, you need an importation plan and a stockpile plan.

I often do what Barros suggests here and stockpile well over 50000 rares before the shooting starts.

154 hours and I fail at trade xD

Look, the game is so complicated that I wrote a 40,000 word strategy guide and published it as an e-book... and it mostly only covers ground combat. Naval? Air? That would be a whole other book. :D
