A few updates ago the decision was made to remove most Triggered Modifiers from the game, and to turn them instead into Provincial Modifiers where relevant. An example of this is the Conquest of Mecca when playing as a Christian Nation. Before it was a Triggered Modifier that was gotten from holding the required provinces, now it is a Province Modifier on Mecca itself that you receive the benefits of so long as you own Mecca and have the other requirements.
And for the most part I am on board with this change. It isn't really hurting anything, hell I think on the code side most of the change was just moving some stuff from one file to another.
But the one problem I do have with it is that sometimes there can be a province with an incredibly beneficial province modifier right next door to your empire, waiting to be conquered and acquired, and then you don't know about it for ages. Before you could see what was up for grabs by checking the Triggered Modifiers list. Now you have to actually select the province and look at the modifiers affecting it.
So what I would like is a Map Mode that lets you see which provinces have these individual modifiers. This could either be a unique map mode, or just fold the functionality into another already existing map mode. For example, the Diamond Mines of Golconda, and the Taid in Yemen both have modifiers that give bonus goods produced, and because that effects trade, when you are using the trade nodes map mode, those provinces actually have those province modifiers visible. But Conquest of Mecca, or Rome, or Jerusalem doesn't?
This suggestion is actually more pertinent now than ever, due to the incoming 1.31 update. For that update, one of the SEA updates being added is the addition of the Emerald Buddha, a Province Modifier for Bhuddists that can be captured and moved, taking it from place to place. In principal this is a great idea, but I have a feeling that it will get very poor engagement from people playing in the region for the sole reason that to find the Bhudda, you will have to manually click around on all provinces until you find it. A provincial modifiers map mode could make it significantly easier.
Anyway. This is my piece. I hope Provincial Modifiers and things like the Emerald Bhudda continue to be implemented, because they seem like good ideas that could be helped with just a small QOL change.
