As a player who loves to maximize his playing time in each game, I mostly start at the 769 start date. The one thing that has bugged me often was how Bedouins just spread like rabbits throughout the Middle East.

Even with the Abassids broken up, there're a lot of duchies and counties that are still ruled by Bedouins, and within a century, most of Persia becomes Arab. Now of course historically, the Persians were ruled by foreigners for a very long time, but still managed to keep their culture unique and intact. If anything, the conquerors adopted the Persian culture themselves.

In order to stop this madness, I'd say and event should fire for Bedouin/Levantine/Turkish/Mongol characters who's capitol and primary title is within dejure Persia. This event will basically allow the player/AI to flip to Persian, with a prestige boost, and a lowered revolt risk in the areas they rule. This will also flip the culture of their kids.

So what do y'all think? I know the AI can just take the current "adopt local culture" option but they rarely ever do that.

It's part of the bigger problem of how culture conversion works. When Byzantium doesn't fail, Greeks end up everywhere, too. As did German for a a long time because of the HRE. Any dominant culture spreads, and the world loses all cultural diversity after a few centuries...

I'd say a part of the problem is that there are too many Bedouin rulers, as well.

Culture needs a serious fine-tuning, and I've been waiting for THAT DLC since day one. I have a hard time playing a full campaign when half the map is Beduoin, and the other half is either French or German. It really breaks immersion, and it makes the conversion to EU4 way less interesting to play.

Instead of spawning a court (and subsequent courtiers) full of your ethnicity and religion, it should spawn people of that county's religion and culture.

Make converting cultures take effort.

You would just spawn courtiers of the culture and religion of the capital... Not sure this is a good thing either. It is still a bit better tho (and it keeps being simple).
