Pretty sure this is new and I seem to recall in previous games that I had wounded and maimed characters. However I just noticed that becoming wounded whilst maimed, clears the maimed trait and replaces it with wounded. (Tested on several events not event related.)

Has anyone else noticed this or was this always how it worked previously?

Perhaps I am just remembering incorrectly. :closedeyes:

Really? Then maybe it works for incapable, maybe I can get my character back from the brink of defeat!

It always worked like that. I remember holding feasts at 1.01 and got wounded(because of some fire tricks) for my maimed king. He got unmaimed after he was healed. :O

I think that may have been a different bug :p

I know a recent patch added "opposite = maimed" to the Wounded trait (and vice versa), which accounts for the magical un-maimings.

There's no opposite for Incapable, though.

Do you know which one?

I have no problem with wounded being cleared when becoming maimed, but removing maimed when wounded seems a little strange. Especially when I am torturing people and they escape from my dungeon after being maimed, only to become wounded and magically healed of all ailments.

The maimed trait says only a miracle could heal the limb that was lost... i always wished there was some .5% chance mechanic to meet some wonderworker saint that heals it! :p

I'm sure I've seen characters recover from being maimed. I think the missing limb grows back, like a lizard's tail.

I *think* it was 1.07 that changed it - that's the first time I remember the traits being exclusive to each other in the Ruler Designer. That said, it's not hard to add an event that provides a (low) chance of recovering from maiming - one assume that's a case where the limb wasn't lost entirely, just the function in it was or something.

Technically, the remove/add commands are redundant what with the traits being opposite, but when I made this event they weren't. I didn't bother to create unique localizations so it's a bit off as it uses the ones for the remove_wounded event, but eh whatever. I should note that I've never actually seen a character with base_health higher than 7.
