but i always rp as craven Nerevarine in morrowind... i don't know anything in lore that tells me i cant either.
well this Mer in Ascadia wasn't so craven when he lead his great revolt against the stronger powers of the tribunal. So i refute your claim and say he must have overcame his debilitating fear for the greater good of the ashlanders! however this conversation does give me the idea that the craven trait should be split into a couple different "phobias". I've never liked craven to begin with because it doesn't define fear properly.. it's such a complex emotion.
The Gods in Elder Scrolls are not as active as people seem to assume. Especially daedric gods, who are actively barred from over interference with nirn as long as the towers stand (The oblivion crisis precipitated by the fall of several towers)
If they would simulate an oblivion crisis in game would daedric cults have to control the towers in order to active the event?
They probably also had other bases and holdings in other provinces like Morrowind. The mythic down controlled exactly 0 of the towers.
As far as we know, they control a cave.
Apart from getting imprisoned by his battlemage, he was arguably one of the most successful Septim rulers. What happened in Morrowind all worked well in favor of the empire. Imperial influence was strengthened in Morrowind. There's also the fact that there isn't any need to maintain large armies in Cyrodiil itself. Only a stupid ruler would do so. Have you never heard of the Praetorian Guard? As the center most location of the empire, there normally wouldn't have been any threats there. The Oblivion crisis wasn't the result of his failure, but that of the blades(well done blades).Honestly, as an organzation, the blades are glossly overrated. Just look at how many emperors and empresses died under their watch. They even fu@ked up during the Great War, got all their operatives in Elsweyr and Valenwood killed. They even tried to force you into killing Paarthurnax. Just WTF?!Well, he also got imprisoned by his own Battlemage. Not to say that he initiated the downfall of Morrowind, one of the provinces he should protect. He also seemed unable to maintain a sufficient garrison at the Imperial Province itself, with all Forts abandoned and no Legion to close Oblivion Gates as they were mostly in the other provinces.
I really don't understand how Mehrunes Dagon can invade Tamriel less than a year after the dragonfires got shut down while Molag Bal had to wait over a hundred years after the last Reman emperor got assassinated to invade. There's also the fact that even after he's defeated, there were no attempts by other Daedric princes like Mehrunes Dagon to also invade even though there's quite an amount of time before the rise of Tiber Septim. The Mythic Dawn did however deactivate the tower (By killing Uriel and shutting down the dragonfires), and this allowed Mehrunes Dagon to start interfering.

It's best not to think about this, yeah.Shh!!! You're putting too much thought into it, you keep doing that and the whole thing comes crashing down.
