becoming spain can mess up your missionaries if you have to reload

as castille iw as agressive early <was in 1.07 but not the last one of the series...i took morrocco fez and algiers colonized to songhai dowed them and rushed in...after restign a while i sent missionaries out and later become spain...now after bit i crashed <power failure not the game> and i was forced to reload my autosave...my missionaries still appeared on map as working and i waited and waited..and nothing..no message they just poofed when time ran out....i think the game calculated the missionaries as castile and i was spain so no effect..i went back farther reloaded as castille and became spain again and this time the missionaries completed their missions and 1 failed 2 succeeded

Known bug:

Missionaries not shown after control lost on province, but they are still active. They also stay active when the province is given to another country, or if the country tag changes.

Except that doesn't accurately describe what was reported; i.e. that CAS/SPA missionaries failed while still appearing on the map, the reverse of what the bug report says.

Possibly related problem (I think this is happening, seen it a couple of times):
It seems that if your missionaries disappear, they're still functional, BUT if you save you lose them... i.e. disappearing missionaries are not saved.
