Is there any point in grinding to become an elector as Provance if I'm to form Jerusalem later on? Wiki states I'll leave the HRE, even if I am an Elector? The benefit of being Elector is that ill keep kingdom Tier

My idea was:
  • win war against England
  • release Normandy (after finishing 1. mission)
  • lose anjou to Brittany (this way I would be 5 Provinces Big with less than 100 dev)
  • have an alliance with Austria
  • eliminate Trier
  • safe scum till I get elected
Thoughts?

If you are going to go into Jerusalem why even bother to become an elector in the first place?
I'm asking to find out whether I'll really lose my Electorship when my capital is moved to Jerusalem and if there's a way to prevent it.
Someone said that if I were the Emperor before forming Jerusalem Ill stay emperor and can simply rejoin, but what would happen to the electorship?

You will leave HRE when forming Jerusalem as an elector. You can't form Jerusalem as the emperor
Forming Jerusalem will give you kingdom rank so beeing elector doesn't do anything for you

you are right, Ive tested this out with the console.
Emperor cant become Jerusalem and Elector leave the empire with their electroship.
no point in pursuing electorship in a provance into Jerusalem run.
case closed.

I think it's because you're not suposed to be able to be part of the HRE if your capital is outside Europe.

It’s really difficult to get Austria to grant you an electorship. They usually give it to non monarchies since they won’t be eligible for emperorship. I did a test using consoles while playing as the TO. I integrated elector with other tags and every time Austria gave it to someone else. When there was only me and monarchies left, Austria gave it to monarchies. I was allied to Austria and I was in the HRE. The best chance to get it is being very, very small.

Unrelated somewhat since the OP answered his own question, but I would say the easiest way to gain electorship is via a PU with one of the existing monarchy electors and then inheriting them. Austria (or any emperor, for that matter) will very rarely make the player an elector. Otherwise, you'd probably have to try to stay tiny as hell for a long, long time or let the Reformation run out of control/bottle it up and win the League War for the other side so there's less than seven eligible electors counting you. Even then, I'd bet the AI would take the penalty before it would name you if there was a chance you could get elected AND you would be stuck with a heretical mess of an HRE to try and cleanse. Still easier to PU someone early and wait out the inherit.
