Beating Germany

So here's the overview.

I'm playing as France, IC is 250+, divisions number 234. Italy annexed Austria and Bohemia (and Italian Federation of course). I've pushed the Germans aaall the way back to Poznan. They have 20IC left. I've beaten them basically, captured Berlin and their other key German provinces. All they have left is the Danzig - Memel corridor (+ Poznan) and Finland which they annexed.

Why won't they give up or accept peace? I'm clearly the winner, and I really really don't want to have to trod all the way to Archangelsk and capture Morocco, Suez and Vietnam to officially win a war I've already won.

Do I really have to annex them, by capturing their other key provinces, for an event to fire? It's getting a bit boring sadly, just slowly steamrolling through Eastern Europe since I know I've won.

There's an event, just keep pushing in Eastern Europe and eventually it should fire.

Basically you have to take all prewar German lands (including Dantzig and Königsberg). Afterwards an event will fire

I've captured all home German lands, from Metz to Memel, 2 weeks later and still nothing. Could the fact that they annexed Finland/a small chunk of Russia come into play?

I doubt that. There's an offset, however, the event doesn't fire immediately. Try saving, exiting and reloading, that should make the event fire.

It should have fired by now. Did you (not your allies) take the German mainland? And how much time has passed?

It's Jan 1942 and our armies have reached Lithuania, Ukraine, and Belgrade.

How about someone can tell me the event number and I use the "cheat" to activate it?

And yes we have taken the German mainland. All of it.
