Sadly, no.:( Though I heard that in the EEP, the early explorers have very short lifespans, which evidently helps somewhat.:)

As long as it does not curb later expansion into that area.

What annoys me more are attrition-less explorers from England reaching Australia decades before 1558. (That's the date Australia was discovered wasn't it?)
And of course, having a bustling city of 2000++ people by 1600.

I ALWAYS get there first, and usually the ROTW never gets there at all .... did you stumble into one of my games by mistake?

Has anyone noticed the ability of the AI to send multiple colonists at once to a colony? I paused the game once when a hoard of six ships were leaving England. Low and behild, all of them went to Deleware. Sure would be nice if I could do that.... : )

With all of the explorers they get after 1492 they will always go crazy.

The EEP set up prevents the early Portugues explorers from going to China (which they seem to do often for me without EEP). They are less likely to find Brazil than before, but they will still find it.

By sending "resupply" ships you can explore without sending your explorer back to port very often (like once in five years) at low tech levels.

If you are exploring in a line instead of a circle it becomes harder logistics wise. You then need a chain of supply ships. A supplies B with supplies C which supplies your explorer.

Building Tp's at resupply points is a good idea.

Also make sure that each fleet is only a single ship including your explorer.

If you don't mind pausing every month you can with two ships in a fleet split and merge each month to prevent attrition but you will be sent home at 26 months, hence I find resupply ships to work best.

You can do that as long as you do not mind breaking the spirit of the rules. :)
