BB Wars

At what point do they start?
I have a BB value of 17 in 1450, and it seems like everyone and their grandma wants to attack me. Luckily I have a strong alliance, and a good economy and military, so I always win, but I've been at war with nearly all of central Europe by 1450.

hmm, guess i'm too powerfull...

playing as france, i played rather calm (ok i got all my provinces in france from vassals & england, and 2 provs in England and 3 in eire, and vassalasised England- but all in defensive wars or diplo-annex/events)

But then.
Habsburg inheritance of burgundy (can live with that, its historically "accurate" )
and then Austria decides it's time to smack me, so i launch a counteroffensive, and occupie most of their provinces-- then their government falls!!!!!!!
then i had 65 BB

but so far no-one decided to teach me a lesson, while i have played another 10-15 years and even went for Napoli.
whats that? their afraid of me?

17 bb points in 1450 is a LOT, what did you do annex most of northern Germany?!

Well, I've taken 3 provinces from Bohemia in a peace after declaring war on them (they were Protestant though), and took 2 provinces from Poland after declaring war on them. No CB in either, so that's probably why I have so many BB points.. probably 12 or 14 just from those 2 things. Once I unify Germany, I doubt I'll get many more. I'll just wait for others to attack me. I have an alliance with many of the central German states, as force-vassalized Mecklenburg and Hannover with good relations with both, so by 1480 I should have most of central and eastern Germany in my belt.

Sensible, as in, advantageous for you?
I know that when I see one of my neighbors faltering, and I have a nice army ready to go, I won't hesitate to crush them if I believe I can get something good out of it.

I think it's all relative to everyone else's BB values. Right now I have 17, which is the 2nd highest. My reputation is 'bad'.

You can just lower everyone's BB points, if you don't like them that much. That will bring diplomacy back, though it would be more convenient if there was an option to get rid of them.

true, but i had a few of them when i was playing with Brandenburg (also NOT on very hard)
and i would consider myself weak at the time, some 10-15 provinces, neighbours all around 1-5 provinces.

If you mean in general, that could be debated.

I personally think that there should be 0 BB for CB DOWs against people of a different religion (at least until the Edict of Tolerance). That just makes good sense to me.

On the other hand, it could be argued that if you DOWed Moslems all the time, took land from them, and became very powerful, even the European nations would get unhappy with you at a certain point. Since BB covers generally disklike of your country, you might say that BB for DOWs against countries of a different religion is appropriate.

But you still get BB points for every province you take/annex, whether Moslem or not. Your BB value still goes up, so if you get bigger so does your BB points, even if it's against a different religion.

True, but then again, you can always just deduct a few BB points if you think it's unfair.
