Last night I was playing as England, and Turkey became as always the big bad boy, and guess what, Eire, without any allied (didn't have any) DoW on Turkey and his allies. This shouldn't be happening, why in the world an small country that still have 2 unwalled provinces would DoW on the all powerful sunni alliance? To send 2000 troops in 5 ships? I had defended the EU AI in other threads, but this is beyond common sense. The BB rating should not make small unallied countries to DoW on mayors countries. Maybe the AI have suicidal tendencies. :D

Two things:

Was Turkey at war with other nations at the time? There's nothing wrong with a small nation joining a general frenzy.

And history has examples of totally bananas DoW's.

But you're right of course. The AI routine is far from perfect, but short of a complete overhaul and rewriting (which is not going to happen) the BB thingy IMHO makes the AI more of a credible challenge without sacrifising to much realism.
