I've been digging around in the older threads and I think I have found the formula for BB reduction over time. Is this reduction per year, per month, per decade?

I understand the event-based BB increases and decreases. I am trying to understand the time-based BB decreases.

Thanks!

The reduction depends on piety, and for example, i've lost 5 BB in less than 2 years with a ruler having 1500 piety...

Without knowing which formula you are using I can't comment on which time is used. In game however your BB reduction is done at the beginning of each month.

When I want to find out how bad my BB is and how much I am losing a month, I usually open the characterscreen for a vassal and then hover the mouse over his loyalty. I make note of the amount of loyalty he is losing because of my reputation and next month I check again how much he is losing per month. That way I can plan when to make my next big moves.

Okay,

I am really getting puzzled

I looked in the save file and saw my BB was something like 12.237.

I then loaded the game, played for two years in which I started no wars, got involved in no wars and made no claims on anyone. I also released 3 count titles and one duke title.

In addition, my Prestige was above 1600 the entire time and my Piety was around 1300 for the two years.

Then my current ruler died and his son inherited, which I understood was good for a 1/3 reduction of the father's BB).

I saved the file and then looked at the BB and it was 10.857.

Even if I hadn't granted titles, it should ahve dropped lower than that by the inheritance, correct? 1/3 of 12 is 4, so it should be 8.something, plus a bit less for the title creation, plus lowering for the two years I sat on my hands and let things cool down.

I am running DV latest patch with DVIP installed. Oh, and at Normal difficulty.

Thanks,
