The FAQ forum has a thread with links to old threads of interest. One of these 'You've been a bad boy' has Huszics summary of BB factors and assorted replies. It seems to be wrong.

EU1.10, IGC, playing as Unified Prussia, Normal/Normal, Prussia is the only major.

Mar 1689
BB = 8, I and my allies at peace.
Prussia has been protestant for 150 years.
Mysore, Hyderabad and Mughal are allied.
Mysore and Hyderabad are Pagan
I have no CB on any of them.

Apr 1689
I DOW Mysore. Stab from +3 to +1, for no CB.
Hyderabad honours, but Mughals dishonour.
I decline to ask my allies to join in.
Mysore and Hyderabad each have 3 provinces.
I invade and progressively take provinces.

Jan 1690
Capture the 3rd Mysori province and annex Mysore.

Aug 1690
Capture the 3rd Hyderabadi province and annex Hyderabad.
The only other stuff going on during the 16 month period was merchant and colonist sending.
BB = 24, an increase of 16!!

Now according to the FAQ:
No BB points for Rest of the World (ROTW) DOW, with or without CB
No BB points for ROTW provinces
Regarding full annexation the FAQ says:
"Full Annex CB&NCB OR BB 0 + 1/prov
Full Annex CB SR BB 5 + 1/prov"
(SR and OR mean Same Religion and Other Religion respectively)

So that should be 6 BB points, as both have OR, not SR.

Where did the other 10 points come from? Must have been 5 each for 2 full annexations - but that's not what the FAQ says.

Huszics, if you read this, please help.

I think you are right, it is wrong! ;)

Full Annex CB&NCB OR BB 0 + 1/prov

I beleive this part is nonesence.

And if you recive bb points for OR provinces/countries then your BB ads up

I recently annexed Mysore (3 province)and Hyderbad(3 province),they had no alliance I got 6 bb.If you really got 16 bb then you must got this 10 bb ,becasuse you almost annexed the whole alliance.
Perhaps you annexed the leader of their alliance, would that give you a 10 points bb?

Yes, I really did go from 8 to 24 BB, I have the save files to prove it. Unfortunately I did not save after annexing Mysore and before annexing Hyderabad, so I can't prove that it was 8BB for each, though it looks much the most likely thing that happened.

I just checked the Mar 1689 save, and Hyderabad was the leader of their alliance. But I have never heard that it makes any difference whether you annex alliance leaders or not.

I wondered if someone was going to say that 'Pagan' isn't a religion proper (e.g. it isn't on the tolerance sliders) and therefore it counts as 'Same religion' - but if Adler only got 6BB for the same actions, I am truly confused.

About your BB case, I did invade Mysore and Hyderabad recently (yesterday!), and had not such high BB.

However, after some checks, I suspects that exterminating natives might bring one BB/province.

1) Can someone confirm ?

2) Have you massacred natives in India (or elsewhere) during your campaign against Mysore/Hyderabad ?

Weren't there earlier versions in which Hyderabad and Mysore were Muslim, but then it was changed to prevent the Mughals diploannexing them? I seem to recall this, but I may be wrong (I have been before)

If so, this would explain the discrepancy in BB points... (or maybe not, since you aren't Muslim either)

I've slaughtered all sorts of natives in India and elsewhere and kept BB at 0. It's absolutely not that. The fact that it's 10 means it looks like it's the annexation, althought the DOW might be it too. I need to check more often but I tend not to have these BB problems in ROTW.
The FAQ is also wrong about the HRE elections by the way, and no-one changes that.

Mysore and Hyderabad were definitely pagan. I was playing EU1.10 and IGC2.3.

There were no native massacres. Incidentally I was keeping extensive notes during the game play for possible AAR use, so I'm pretty sure of the facts.

I'm going to bring up the pre-war save and play it again, and see if the same thing happens.

OK, I've just replayed it. Obviously the individual battles didn't go exactly the same as the first time, but all the essentials were the same (same month for DOW, Mughals dishonored again etc.). On the replay I took Mysore a month earlier but Hyderabad two months later.

This time I saved after the DOW, after the Mysore annexation and after the Hyderabad annexation

BB still 8 after the DOW.

BB 16 after the Mysore annexation.

BB 24 after the Hyderabad annexation.

It simply must be 1BB per province annexed + 5BB for the full annexation.

You are entirely correct.

I dunno if this was changed in a patch after the thread you speak of was written, or if they just dropped a typo in it, but in fact, ANY country that you annex will net you five BB points plus one per province. Best advice is to take the four non-capital provinces in one war (BB + 0) then in the next war, annex just one of them (BB+6) and wait for it to drop a little before taking the second (BB+6 again)

Define big? You get 5 plus 1 per province, no matter what religion they are. At least I do on my version :D
