Sneaky, future time traveling Aussies.

By the way, could you tell me tomorrow's winning lotto numbers? I'll split the haul with ya!.

That's nothing to those even sneakier New Zealanders.

Well, don't worry, as a backerit supporter, i still have LATER the game than some looser youtubers, who got the game in early April...

Like this guy have the game in april 6th.
Why? Don't ask... They have the privilege we (early supporters) don't deserve...

They have thousands of followers, are locked behind an NDA, and are advertising the game.

The heading used in this thread (repeated below), is the same used to announce the release of the game. Australia is a location in EVERYWHERE, and yet we are not receiving the game on the sated date. As such the announcement and heading used is clearly false and misleading in this case.

"BATTLETECH will reach MechWarriors everywhere on April 24th"

This just confirms that Australia is nowhere since it is not part of everywhere... ;)

That being said, I've been to nowhere, and it is quite a nice place, the whole depart on Friday land on Sunday to get there and to return leave in the afternoon and arrive the same morning is always, odd...

And? They advertise, so they got the game BEFORE the early supporters got their copy?
It's seems very unfair for those peoples, who pay for the game at the development phase. The only "early access" it's the multiplayer beta last year.
It's the Dev's / Publisher choice, but personally I hate this...

Would you really prefer that HBS and Paradox adopt a suboptimal marketing strategy on a multi-million dollar endeavor to assuage your personal feelings? Moves like that could compromise Success™ and future expansions.

Better that they stick with what is working - we'll end up with more content down the line this way, some of which will even be in free patches.

So you say giving early access for the early supporters (Kickstart, Backerit) is a suboptimal choice? o_O

They only got a beta release, and they're limited on how far they're allowed to play.
It's not an early access release, they're release candidate builds that aren't quite ready for release, so things are going to be slightly different for us when we get the game. Fewer bugs, fewer confusing camera issues, and final global numbers, and possibly things that didn't make any sense in those streams like building a mech from 3 salvage parts that came fully loaded with equipment being removed (we hope).

Yes, at least from a marketing efficiency perspective.

Well, it's a point.
Still don't like it, still think this unfair, still feel betrayed.

That's my problem.

The goal of the publishers is not to make you feel important. It's to release a game that satisfies their backers while selling enough copies to ensure that HBS and the Battletech setting as a whole will thrive.

Advertising is an important part of that.

You need to get over yourself.

Actually, it is you, who does not get it! First off, those who have been streaming, are kickstarter/backerit. Second, there were over 40,000 kickstarters. They cannot give out pre-release betas to every kickstarter, given that each one has to sign a NDA!

Can you please point to me anywhere that it said we were as early backers going to be given early access to the game? (other than BETA access for skirmish mode)
Can you point to me anywhere it says that HBS and Paradox can't give release candidate copies of a portion of the game to streamers so they can get people who've either never heard of Battletech, or who didn't know that a new game was even under development to see it?
They need people to see this game and watch someone play some missions to get an idea if it's the sort of thing they want to spend some money on.
I myself was a late reinforcement backer, because somehow I had NEVER heard of HBS before that point. I may have somewhere out of the corner of my eye in some backwater website heard that they'd made a shadowrun reboot, but it wasn't advertised enough in the circles I played in to get my attention.
By doing this with the streamers, it's getting attention that it possibly wouldn't have had before, and more people will see it, and like it, and that will generate more sales so it becomes a financial success, and can continue in the future with more content, and sequels.
I understand your frustration, I feel it too, but I also knew I was not going to be getting it any time before release.
Some streamers got an incomplete copy of the game (a bit more feature complete than the skirmish beta of course), it won't impact my enjoyment of the game (other than having watched a couple of the campaign missions so those are spoiled for me now....I'm still playing them and going to enjoy them if for no other reason than to play them BETTER than how I saw them played online by someone else).

Look at it another way, if you feel like you've somehow been "cheated" out of early access, then imagine how great this game is going to be.
That bodes VERY well for HBS, and this game. The fact that I am vibrating in my seat with antici (SAY IT SAY IT) pation (kudos to anyone who gets that reference) should tell you that I feel as excited for this game as everyone else.
And that's even with all the things I'm not happy with game design decision wise.
This means we're going to see an extended life for this game, it's going to have a lot of years of updates, and DLC, expansions, and eventually sequels and their consequent DLC/expansions/sequels.
These streams are simply a means to make that happen, and they're aren't going to make me like the game any less, and apparently they only show how much you want to play this game.
