It´s not as if the game required double heat sinks to run... A decent rig will move it just fine.

We all here want Timber Wolf and the system of galaxies. In addition, I want his assault modification. But developed clearly made it clear that in the first additions we can not wait = (

Bah, speak for yourself. I'll take the Nova Cat A any day of the week.

Your doubts are unjustified in this case. Mechwarriors that actually survive to get old tend to sit in the rumble seat as long as they can. Jaime Wolf died at the age of 87, Natasha Kerensky made it to 84. Rhonda Snord? 73, even though she didn't die in combat but fell victim to a bomb. And I could go on with that list.

Or better: I am sure a successful merc commander will be sitting in a cockpit basically til the day he isn't able to climb into it anymore.

You make a good point there.

That is why I had hoped that any first expansion would bridge the timeline between 3025 BATTLETECH to 3050 BATTLETECH, this being inclusive of the Fourth Succession War (largely, though not exclusively Houses Davion and Laio), the Andurien Crisis (largely, though not exclusively House Mario and the MoC) and the War of 3039 (largely, though not exclusively Houses Kurita, Davion and Steiner) ~ in this way each of the Great Houses would be highlighted in turn and according to lore.

Well, the Successor States you name are where the majority of the fighting took place. To use the Fourth Succession War as an example, the heaviest fighting was between the Federated Suns and the Capellan Confederation. The Draconis Combine got bogged down thanks to Takashi Kurita's hate-boner for Wolf's Dragoons, the Lyran Commonwealth kept the Free World League busy... that is, when the FWL wasn't distracting itself with internal problems. So in gameplay terms, any Fourth War content would be largely based around the Capellan Front, simply because that's where the majority of the action was.

Why does everyone say that.

Say again? Even in Australia, where we get slugged with what is basically a "[mod edit: language]" tax on everything that gets imported even by digital delivery services, a decent gaming PC costs less than A$1,000. And that's for a pre-built off-the-shelf system; buy parts and assemble it yourself and it's cheaper still. Sure, you're not going to get blistering performances out of it, but it'll run and that's the main consideration. It's only when you insist on having bleeding-edge kit at all times that gaming PCs start getting expensive, and despite what the more... enthusiastic PCMR types will say, you don't need 1440p/4K running 120fps to enjoy a game.

Have temporary refurb i3-2120 3.3ghz dual / 8GB RAM / 500GB hdd / GTX 750 Ti card. Can confirm $1k custom rigs have diminishing returns as far as everyday PC gaming goes. I can't stand win7/10 though, I'm strictly a WinXP interface guy. :D

About $350 equivalent? Plays modern releases (FO4, Warhammer:TW, Xcom2 etc) at medium/high, stuff like Battletech at max with ease. I suppose blistering speed is relative to what your doing - I'm pretty sure my install times are fairly slow compared to most and I'm not seeing 120fps but so long as it maintains 45-60fps without stuttering that's just fine by me. I'll probably replace it eventually but it was a surprise to see it wasn't a huge downgrade and hasn't made my list of 'must do' yet.

To be honest I suspect pc requirements for non-VR plateued years ago but the lack of optimizing before releases (I'm looking at you Space Engineers) and greedy game engines (that's you, Unity) is driving up CPU / RAM requirements faster than they have any real need to.

My rig is built around an i5-6400 2.7GHz quad/8GB RAM/GT 730, and from memory, that cost me ~$A700-ish including motherboard and PSU, and that's with the Australia Tax.

Yeah, my rig runs everything that I want to play well enough to meet my requirements. Then again, I'm not one of those people who demand 1440p/4K at 120fps or a game is "literally UNPLAYABLE".

To be honest I suspect pc requirements for non-VR plateued years ago but the lack of optimizing before releases (I'm looking at you Space Engineers) and greedy game engines (that's you, Unity) is driving up CPU / RAM requirements faster than they have any real need to.

I'd also put a share of blame on people who insist on being able to count every pore and facial hair on a character's face for pushing up CPU/GPU/RAM requirements. Speaking for myself, I'm willing to accept less-shiny graphics in exchange for either a main plot that keeps me interested and has a decent amount of depth (i.e. not a game I can finish from start to finish in a single sitting) or other mechanics that make me want to keep playing a game.

FYI, I'm not sure many in the land down under know about this; Newegg.com. They are there in Australia. It is a US computer/electronics supplier (parts and all). IIRC, because they are officially in Australia, they circumvent that tax you're referring too. I might be wrong; however, it's worth checking into. I built all my machines using Newegg when I was in the states. Hands down, they are the go to people for all your computer and electronic needs.

All I can read is "3025 or bust!" and "Give me teh Clanners - or bust!"... People, where's the love for the Ronin War or the War of 3039? ;)
Ronan Wars and 3039 have been suggested by several posters.

Myself included. :D

They're a bit more obscure than the 4th and the Clan invasion though.

Well, if your problem is the win7 /win10 interface and you like the XP one - I have win10x64Pro with ClassicShell - i can use the win10/win7/XP interface or a mix of these. You can have XP interface with win10 if you want. BTW, ClassicShell is free.

Well the problem with any windows OS other then Win 10, is the 32 bit. Both GPU and software dont support 32bit anymore and 64 bit can handle and do things that 32 can not. I loved XP and accepted Win 7. But Win 10 is the first Windows OS I consider worth to call an Operation System. Something I've only allowed Linux and Unix to call themselves =). (Yes, yes, Mac OS is good too).

I would say that if you do not have Win 10, then upgrade to it. It solves tons of issues that's related to not having a 64 bit.
This is the first time since I started with computers in the 80ies, where I suggest getting a new Windows OS to fix your problems =).

Also bear in mind that XBox games tend to cost considerably more than PC games...so over time it more than evens out.
Personally I have a wishlist and whenever games become cheap enough (~ the cost of a pint or two of decent beer) I'll grab them. There is the odd exception where I'll buy a game from new, or even rarer pre-order or kickstart...I'm talking about you FTL and Battletech ;)

Ronan Wars and 3039 have been suggested by several posters.

Myself included. :D

They're a bit more obscure than the 4th and the Clan invasion though.
Oh yeah, they are... If I recall correctly, the Ronin Wars had a scenario book - by the German publisher of BT back then. And in German only. Obscure enough, I suppose.
