Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I have been playing a lot these last weeks and it worked perfectly. Then after the patch yesterday the PC crashed just when loading after a battle. Since then everytime I try to launch the game, it stays black after logos. I only have he mouse cursor but the intro video does not appear. I have reinstalled the game on steam without success.

every time I launch the game.

Attach DxDiag (PC), System Info log (Mac), or run sudo lshw -html > specs.html and uploaded specs.html (Linux)

Attach Output Log
Windows: \Users\YourUserName\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH\output_log.txt
Mac OS: Users >{name} > Library > Logs > Unity > Player.log
Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/Harebrained Schemes/BATTLETECH/Player.log


If the game crashed, please attach the crash file with the time stamp closest to the crash.

Same here. I've also totally uninstalled, deleted BATTLETECH from the Steam apps area, reinstalled, verified files and removed the LocalRow Hairbrained directory - all to no avail.

On launch the logos fire but no introduction movie and it doesn't go anywhere else. And note that I don't play with mods so that's not the issue.

HBS you broke your game.

After a more complete clean reinstall, I got the game to work. I don't know where the problem came from.
I lost my 70 hours campaign though...
You should be able to restore your save files so long as they were not corrupted.
It could be cloud save that is the current issue.

Since the beginning still having issues with game crashing, when it crashes it crashes the pc as well, it does not like it when accessing mech bays for customization/repair in skirmish, campaign, and or anything that requires loading of one area to another. Already sent crash report.Game is great when it is running. Even with new DLC.

Anyone wth this error in their log:
InvalidProtocolBufferException: Protocol message contained an invalid tag (zero).
at Google.Protobuf.CodedInputStream.ReadTag () [0x0011b] in <f9cf94bbbfb041d0abe88cee5be00fc7>:0
needs to go to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH\ and delete the profiles.dat file .
Note it may be under Local, LocalLow or Roaming, depending.

That will fix that problem.

There's no crash in that log, but I think it's an old one. They moved in 1.7.x to
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH\output_log.txt
