One line summary of your issue
Salvaged 'Mechs start with free weapons?

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
BattleMechs assembled from salvage immediately start with all of their stock weapons. This directly contradicts what Yang says in the tutorial text. It also doesn't make much sense. According to Yang, they're supposed to start without weapons or equipment.

I agree 100% this is ridiculous, don't get me wrong I love love love this game but this is by biggest gripe, we should have to assemble the mech which should take time and some C-bills and then equip it with weapons, getting a fully equipped mech from salvage makes no sense.

Wile I agree with you, this is not a bug but working as designed.

It's not a bug that Yang's tutorial directly contradicts the way it works?

I would
1) Encourage the Devs to change it to work as described.
2) If they are resolute about not changing it, then at least change Yang's tutorial text so it matches the way it actually works.

I'm not happy with this bug/design choice at all. We should be getting empty mech, no weapons, it should cost time & money to assemble it. Also to put together a mech from partial salvage I wish we had way more parts to collect than 3, more like 8, at least (LL, LA, LT, CT, H, RT, RA, RL).

I was surprised as well to see that salvaged mechs came with weapons and were ready to use immediately, but I was also surprised it costs c-bills to have them or any mech refit. If you're going to have a mech damaged and/or stripped when you get it from salvage, at least have it be free to refit them. It doesn't really make any sense anyway. Presumably the people on the ship working in the mechbays are full time employees. Why would it cost money just to move weapons and equipment around? The only thing going on is labor. Do Yang and his staff get a bonus every time you refit a mech? I get that it takes time to refit a mech, changing giant weapons on giant machines should take time, but it should probably take less time than it does. Even minor damage seems like it would be a bigger job than swapping a medium laser for a medium laser +. I haven't gotten to the end of the campaign, but without including any spoilers, I'm hoping if you invest in the right things switching weapons on a mech can be done the same day. So instantly, no wait time. And considering the c-bills you'd have to invest to accomplish this and the story they've written, it would make sense. And yeah, it's fine that repairs and replacement mech parts would cost c-bills considering those actions would use resources, not only labor.

I think that's a bit extreme. I wouldn't want to collect that many parts, but perhaps they could include things like that in a higher difficulty option for the game in some future patch.

I doubt they will ever make it 'part-specific' (i.e. collecting legs, arms, etc), but increasing the number of parts required to build the mech is definitely adjustable (SimGameConstants.json). I'm not sure if it's possible to set it so it's unequipped though.

I think most people agree that 3 is too little, but 8 might be too much (depending on how frequently parts drop). Seems like a lot of folks think 5 might be a sweet spot. That means, on average, you would need to kill 3 - 4 enemy mechs in order to build one of your own (assuming an average of 1.5 parts per encounter of that mech). 8 would be REALLY really hard.

Either way, I'm okay with mechs being equiped or naked. Very rarely do I use stock mechs anyway, so I have to refit them regardless, so they aren't instantly ready anyway.

I will stand by 8 parts(LL, LA, LT, CT, H, RT, RA, RL) if it can be modded in that is nice but I would prefer this to be official (btw. someone on the forums mentioned that if you mod this game you won't be able to play multiplayer anymore, not sure if it is true). 8 parts that is exactly how it should be, how would you cut a mech into 3 parts? both legs, both arms and whole rest?

Want mech from salvage? then struggle! it should not be easy to get a working mech from parts of mechs you shot to pieces, want new mech faster? well find one in store and buy it!
Anyway we are getting so many parts from salvage, at least I have tons of them, we can get full mechs from parts too fast and so mechs in this game don't feel all that rare.

Btw. silly thing, salvage screen lies about value of all the things we salvage, 1 locust part I got was supposed to be around 500 or 600 k cbills, then I got full locust assembled and it was like 160 k or smth when I wanted to sell it, rather cheap I guess it is because of balance. Can't get too rich too fast.

More on the topic, as I said before, after assembling a mech from partial salvage we should be getting empty mech, no weapons and it should cost time & money to assemble it. At least some things should be removed from mech that was just put together, who would be putting together a mech from parts that are loaded with ammo? that is kinda weird not to mention dangerous.

My understanding was that you won't be able to play multiplayer unless the other person has the exact same modifications (i.e. copies of your files).

How do you cut a mech into 3 parts? Left, Right, Center(+Head) ... Or Torso+Head, Arms, Legs ... Or Extremities, CT (engine), Sides ... I'm very happy that it's not specific parts that are required and that it's just "X number of parts".

It would be awesome if a "mech part" represented a specific tonnage of parts for the chassis so that, for instance, a Locust might be 4 salvage parts, but an Atlas would be 20 (assuming a "part" was 5 tons worth of equipment). And, if that was the case, then it would make sense that the mech came with equipment and armored because you're collecting a "loadout" worth of equipment and not a minimal amount to construct a chassis.

Yes. The salvage screen lies about value. It uses 1/3 of the mech value (for parts) and purchase price (for other components) to calculate the salvage value. Multiple folks have commented on that in other threads.

It really should be stripped mech when salvaged, there is a discrepancy as well since if you blow up a mechs weaponry in the battle and manage to salvage the needed 3 parts from the same mission, the mech becomes fully equipped even then when the needed weaponry was utterly destroyed.
