I arrived at a System with a running generic mission, but decided instead to do another generic local (pirate) misson there.
I was properly informed that this would cancel the running Mission and would upset the former customer.
But yeah, I accepted anyways. Next thing was, I was flying toward the Story Mission at Weldry, some 5 jumps away...
After reload, I tried that a second time with the same result. The only way to do the new pirate mission was to finish the running mission first.
No DLC. No Mods, plain Vanilla
