One line summary of your issue
Pilot ejection option leads to game freeze

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I broke the Game!

So, during the Beta Testing we did many months ago, Ejecting your pilot from the mech was not a feature. Last night I took a very difficult mission (3 and 1/2 skulls) and had to eject a pilot from a mech to save him. He punched out of the mech and his escape pod lifted up and off the screen....

The game froze up and would not allow me to do anything afterwards. I could select other mechs, even other enemy mechs, but the game would not advance to the next mechs turn. Interestingly enough, the game WOULD allow me to use the "Withdraw from Battle" button, and would allow me to access the Options menu to load the game from a previous save (which I did).

Just a heads up!

Has anyone else used the Eject feature yet? Or had a similar problem?

Question. Was the ejecting pilot a mechwarrior who had selected the ace pilot ability?

Great question! It was the main character of the game (you the player), and I do believe that yes, he did have the ace pilot Master ability.

From the direction of your question I am imagining that possibly the program was giving me the option to move after I ejected?

Does that mean I have to walk back onto the battlefield and drag my destroyed Mech away?! LOL.

But seriously, I was not able to select my Fallen Mech after the pilot ejected and I was not able to access any command options after the pilot ejected.

This is a duplicate bug report; Ejection sometimes leads to freezes, sometimes doesn't, but when it does it is 100% reproducible. See this bug report where I provide a save game that reproduces the issue on demand.

I am also having this problem. And it is occurring with a mechwarrior with the Ace Pilot skill.
Had to eject on two different missions (one story, the other a random battle contract), same pilot both times. On the contract mission I could use the withdraw button.

Got the message! Until (or if ever) they do a hotfix, I will have to remember to stay away from the eject button with those Pilots! Thanks very much for the heads up that other people were having this problem in fact!

I can reproduce the bug easily - see the attached save, just select Decker (Orion) and eject.

Prerequisites:
MechWarrior has Ace Pilot skill
Mech is the last to act in this phase of combat or out of combat
