Most missions and contracts crashing after camera redirect

Most missions and contracts I attempt intermittently crash after clicking on a unit to center it, focusing on an area due to a story event, or having a until move or be destroyed. The screen will flicker black for a half-second, and audio will continue to play, but all input will be frozen and the game will be visually frozen.
Steps to reproduce the issue
The issue does not reoccur consistently across actions.
