From that angle and with the Dragon as reference, it looks like the pass is too narrow (at least for the Dragon). That being said, all mechs "take up" the same volume so, small or big, it doesn't matter in terms of valid movement paths.

The plateau on the right is partially in shadow and extends much closer to the LEFT side of the mech's tag. If you zoom in, you can see the plateau passing between the D and R in 'DRAGON'.

Here's a clip of that screenshot of your with some added lines and circles.

Red lines are transpositions of pips into 'probable' locations (green circles) in/around the pass.
Blue line is the base of the plateau on the right.
Yellow line is the distance between the left and right plateau base.

My guess is that the yellow distance line is "too narrow" for a mech and thus travel is blocked. It is annoying, but it does give some tactical advantages since you can still see AND shoot through that gap.
