One line summary of your issue
Infinite Loading Screen

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
When I log in with my Paradox credentials, I cannot load save games (infinite loading) and cannot update my profile.
HOWEVER if I am logged out, I am able to load save games and continue the campaign mode without issue.

Steps to reproduce the issue
The only explanation I have seen is that I edited versionmanifest.csv in a prior patch to include a custom emblem (which worked fine), but now there is a misalignment between my game files and my online paradox profile and this causes the issue.

Look for your output_log.txt
That, at least, should tell you which files the game is looking for.
Then just plug in some 'dummies'. (Copy a similar file, and rename it to what the output_log is looking for.)
That should get the game working again - and then while in-game (logged into Paradox profile and with Cloud saves turned on), delete all campaign saves (feel free to make backups first), go to skirmish mode and delete any and all custom mechs in the Mechlab, as well as any custom lances. Then go and start a skirmish fight on all 4 settings (Battle, Clash, War, Unlimited) with stock lances. Check the OpFor, too - they should use a stock lance as well. And ... y'know, for the heck of it, go ahead and change your profile icon, too. You can change it back later.

Then exit the game.
Now go delete those dummy files you made earlier.
Verify File Integrity - or go ahead and do a full uninstall / reinstall.

... now your new shiny clean install should work, at least.

That's way too cumbersome, honestly - but ... eh, it's all I got, and I know it worked for a few people.

Dummy files worked for me.

Thanks.

Oof.

Considering the lack of a "Reset Profile" button, I think your only course of action is to get your online paradox profile and your game files back in alignment by re-adding your custom logo to your game again - and once that works, set it back to a regular one.

That quoted post of mine isn't going to work without an extra step, 'cause I don't think your output_log lists exactly what file it's looking for.
( ... Unless it's PR_emb ? I don't have quite enough experience reading the output_log to know whether that's the specific file, or a general name for "player emblem".)

Modify your versionmanifest.csv to include a reference to your custom heraldry logo again. (And also provide that file, or a dummy.)

It's not really human-readable, but profiles.dat should include the filename if you can't remember what you used previously.
For Steam, I found mine over at: [C]:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH\profiles.dat Notepad++ will let you look at it, at least. There, on the ... 3rd line, just before it lists the three mech colors, it should include the heraldry filename. If you kept to their filenaming scheme, it should be something like envTxrHrld_[something]

Add that file back (with the .dds extenstion 'n everything) to the versionmanifest and put a matching dummy file (or your original) in ...\BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\emblems\player
That should get the game back to working order.
Then, once logged in, change your profile's heraldry logo to a standard one. Exit game, and delete dummy file and line in versionmanifest.

Next time you want custom heraldry, replace one of the standard ones, or wait/hope for HBS to implement an import function. (Or a "reset profile" button, at least.)

Hope that helps. Good luck.

As they both said, you basically have to reinstall the edit and that should allow everything to load up.

But, a further question on the custom heraldry (so we can understand how things break - and how to avoid it), had you set that as your default account heraldry at the top (for the Paradox account - so it appeared in the top right corner of the load screen, not just as your company icon)?

Ah, yes I believe I did this as well.. didn't even think that it would impact the game in this way!

PR_emb is in fact what I had named the file for my customer heraldry/emblem .. OK.. and I am back.. when I update the VersionManifest.csv with the PR_emb variable that I has set for my customer heraldry, it now shows in my online profile (top right) and also allows me to change it back.. awesome.

Thanks for the find.. I looked in the file and didn't see this.

That is good to know - thank you!

It means that it wants to link our Paradox accounts to one of those images, and if that image vanishes, it will cause problems. So, probably best to use a default image for that (at least) and save the custom stuff for the campaign ;)
