Immediate crash on campagin start, save load

Skirmish works fine, starting a new campagin crashes the game. As a work-around, I disabled NVidia's in-game overlay and were able to start the campagin.
Loading a save crashed the game. NVidia drivers are of current version, 398.36, released 2018-06-26.
The crash reports were submitted to developers via Battletech's Launcher app. It would be nice to tell that in the crash dialog, now it only asks to submit reports. There are no instructions for how to do that.
I would really appreciate feedback about the issue. It's the holiday season, so developers might not be at the office and debugging takes time, so some slack can be cut.
However, the game is unplayable for me, so I have wasted 40€. A refund I would not prefer over wrecking some Mechs. To avoid that scenario, having even a rough estimate about if the issue is going to be fixed would be much appreciated.
