Hello guys,
I'm doing a Let's Play and while I've seen Eck's guide and PartyElit's "BATTLETECH | Beginner's Guide - Battle/Tactical UI Explained" video, there are still a bevy of questions that are whirling in my head like fleet-footed Locusts.
The video:
The timestamps and questions:
10:15: What causes the Inspired buff to manifest?
Probable answer: Because the moral bar has reached 50% so now my lance has increased effectiveness? If so, by how much?
19:50: How long do sensor locks last?
30:46: So if you do a melee move and your mech is in a position to attack an enemy mech rear section by getting past its front and side sections and attacking its backside, it will?
34:11: Why did the game alternate between "Enemy" and "Allied" turns? Is there another group in this level that's friendly?
35:38: Should I have left that crippled mech alone? Would I have managed to get more salvage if I had spared that mech?
37:14: The weapons chance-to-hit probabilities and the Called Shot UI's chance-to-hit probabilities are different. How do those two sets of statistics correlate with each other?
Eck's guide has this to say:
However, I'm still confused. If my weapon says 80% but the leg I'm aiming for says 15, how do those two numbers correlate? So I've an 80% chance to hit the mech and after the game "rolls dice" again to see if I've hit that leg I wanted to? If so, how is that any different from a normal shot if the chance to hit it is just 15%? @_@
39:07: I did a Called Shot on the enemy mech's leg but the whole thing exploded. @_@ Why? @_@
I'll be posting more questions. I hope this flood of queries can help other beginners as well.

Eck's guide has this to say:
First you choose the location to aim for. This will be limited by which side of the enemy is facing you. Your chance to hit is still displayed down in the bottom right weapons panel. If a weapon hits, the percentage shown in the location targeting window is the percentage that it will hit each location.
However, I'm still confused. If my weapon says 80% but the leg I'm aiming for says 15, how do those two numbers correlate?
