I am playing through BATTLETECH for the 2nd time. When I missed the Flashpoint mission that, I believe, was the beginning of "Heavy Metal" and the final story arc for the overall game, I have waited for it to respawn ... and waited ... and waited ...

I remember how the story is supposed to end from my first play-through, but am unable to get there without the final Flashpoint missions. How do I get them to respawn?

Are you sure it's not still there? AFAIR, the Flashpoint Campaign does not expire, but it flashes green (or blue?) somewhere as opposed to yellow as normal flashpoints.

The flashpoint markers for the Heavy Metal mini-campaign flashpoints are blue, not orange like normal flashpoints. It's really easy to miss them, especially if you also have access to the black market.

That said, look at the very bottom of the star map, in the centre there should be a planet called Tarragona which should have the starting flashpoint. I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to expire.

Thanks for the suggestion. But I have not only checked to see if Tarragona is flashing blue *or* orange (it isn't,) I have actually now flown to Tarragona, to see if maybe it's a glitch and I needed to actually *be* there. Still nothing.

When I check the CMD Center for Contracts, I see several from the Local Planetary Government. No Flashpoint missions.

Next, I saved game and exited, then restarted the program, while still in orbit of Tarragona -- to see if *that* would wake it up. Nothing. :-(

If it matters at all, the Local Planetary Government contracts are: Forward Observers; Insurgent Leader; Save the Prototype; and Liberation.

Just to make sure, you are either in Career Mode or post-campaign Campaign mode? Otherwise you won't see any flashpoints at all.

And you have actually finished the Arano Restoration campaign? No flashpoints will show up before you do.
I have completed the opening story from the game's initial release (twice, since this is my second play-through). I then flew back and forth until I had done all of the orange-flashing Flashpoint missions. I saw the blue one flashing at the bottom, but by the time I finished up all the rest and got down there, it was gone.
I didn't think much of it at first, figuring it would respawn eventually. But it never has. :-(

Ah, okay. Thank you for clarifying, that's one issue out of the way :)

It seems there is a bug where the mini-campaign can stall between missions, so I'll move this thread to the bug report forum.
