I hope this is the correct forum for technical issues, I just purchased the BattleTech Merc Package and have a clean install of both Steam, BT on a Win10 system.
Basically, I was getting the "install on first run" error where it was trying to install something for about 3 or 4 minutes, then the game would have the status "Running" in Steam for about 10 seconds (but no other window opens) and then the status "Running" disappears and the green Play button is back.
I have deleted the download cache and verified the files, but it did not help
I tried multiple other fixes, but nothing helped, after that I reinstalled everything and deleted any folders that were there, restarted windows and reinstalled everything. The issue was still there
I went into the properties of BattletechLauncher.exe and did the checkmark to start it with Admin rights, after that the "install on first run" no longer appears and the status "Running" comes up but again it stays for only a couple seconds and then disappears again.
