BATTLETECH - Crash after 1 tutorial mission

Crash after 1 tutorial mission

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
After first tutorial mission I can watch cut scene. After that I get loading screen and at this point game crashes every time - black screen and error message.

Steps to reproduce the issue
Happens every time.
I've tried reinstaling, updating drivers, checking local files - nothing helps.

I got the same issue on the same time.
(Reported already in an earlyer post with 2 error logs) - you both got an nvidia GPU, me an AMD. So seems not to be related to GPU vendor.

Does anyone of you have deactivated the swap file, like me?
Maybe I should try to activate it again...

Same issue..since start..replaey 4 times now 1st Mission...
I read a post the a walkaround may bee to play in window mode an turn grafik down to lessen the gpu strain..anybody tried it allready? Cause i am now at around 100 min Gametime after repating 1st Mission serveral time. And if i want a steam refund i can´t try mutch more... And an will have a refund if the games is not working at my macine..btw. i got a AMD too.

swap file = file on your Harddisk, where Windows may put content in, which does not fit into physical RAM anymore
One may deactivate that if there is enough RAM installed in the system.

I read some Applications do not like a deactivated Swap File...

@Azulus: I am 100% sure, that there will be fixes for the game - so if you are somehow related to Battletech, I would recommend to trust Harebrained on this one and do not refund.
Espeacially this crash before the 2nd mission seems to be an issue for many of us.

Had this same issue. Updated my nvidia drivers to version 397.31 and now it crashes my whole computer when I hit continue. No offense @Ebelon but do you have any links or posts from the devs about hotfixes. After watching so many kickstarters die horribly over the last few years, I have little faith to spare.

@Soulos : Harebrained is not an unknown player in the Kickstarter scene.
They are known to have a good after release support. (You may know one of their Shadowrun games).
So I do have faith in them.

I actually seem to be getting some stability after setting the hard swap thing to have Windows set it! Thank you!

I didn't tick the box at the top, there was one just above the paging limit 0 or something? That said let system set it?

Just make sure you've got the right drive selected as well!! Good luck! I've been banging my head against the wall all day!! This was the last thing I tried and managed to get past the talking.

I've got a gtx 570 that's only got 1.2gb vram

I've got the same problem.
Cutscene plays after the first tutorial mission, then load screen, then crash. If I continue the campaign I get flushed to the start of the tutorial, so it obviously happens before it saves my progression after the level.

I've got the same problem, 3 out of 3 - game crashes. I don't think it's the hardware problem, I'm running really high end rig.

I dropped my graphics settings down to the low preset, and it didn't crash that time. Saving in the next mission and turning the graphics back up let me load the save fine.

The fact that it didn't crash and I could load the next level means that, yes, it helped, and yes, I could.

Dosent work for me..put it down do low, window and 640*480 and still got the issue after 1st mission.

Same here.
Changing graphic settings did not bring any effects.
