One line summary of your issue
Clandestine Research Merc Mission--Dropship landed on my mech

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I was playing a Clandestine Research mission. Wiped out the turrets and got in a running fight with mech reinforcements before occupying the base.

I kill off the last of the mechs and my dropship swoops in and lands on top of my primary character, killing her, and more importantly, flattening her Highlander full of LosTech. Mission subsequently ends after I capture the base, but she is dead and her mech's gear is all lost. Save scum here we come.

There are actually small Red Warning Triangles around the Movement Pips that are in a Dropship's "Crush Zone."

The problem occurs when Forests, Buildings... basically ground clutter cover up some of those Warning Triangles.

It can indeed be high adventure whenever the Evac Dropship swoops in for a pick-up!

That answers my question. I had no idea that's what those triangles meant. Note to self: don't kill the last enemy if you are in the danger zone.
Some missions result in Cbills.
Some missions result in Wisdom.
May the latter ever lead you to the former.

In some of those missions the dropship lands when you occupy the base and will just sit there until you kill the last enemy.
I always wait until I've taken everybody out before grouping everyone together and moving to the base, keeping well clear of the crush zone.
