Yup, good advice, always. When AC20s are on the field, always be Guarded. Turning a 100 point shot into 50 keeps mechs alive.
And thanks for sharing the screen caps!

Good sentiments on that 2nd paragraph. As for losing 3 mechwarriors in one mission... yeah, I'd have loaded a game at that point. No need to torture myself. That said, I don't mind damage, losses, etc, and if I feel I can recover well from a loss to complete the mission, I'll keep playing with those results. But huge setbacks... yeah, no thanks. You're missing the point. There have been so many threads with people struggling with everything from completing missions to not making ends meet. We've got people complaining about getting headshot too much. My point is setbacks like that aren't necessarily the end of the world. Sure they're frustrating. I've had missions where all but one of my mechwarriors took headshot injuries. I've lost 3 of my best mechwarriors in a single mission.
To me, if there was no struggle or setbacks, the game would get boring as hell. Although I do concede there should be a global difficulty setting because not everyone likes getting tossed into the deep end right from the start. What I'm not saying is I'm super awesome and everything goes great for me every time because I'm the best player ever. Because none of that is true.
Random pilot loss is very Battletech, though. I lost two pilots to Cockpit crits on PPC headshots in the same round of a TT (technically MegaMek) match recently. It was painful, but it was a reminder that some days the dice hate you.Good sentiments on that 2nd paragraph. That said, I don't judge using the power of the saved game in a circumstance like that. In a single player game, I firmly believe that having fun is the only requirement. If losing 3 pilots at once hampers someone's fun, I completely understand that.![]()

Boom-Jager, for when you want a Demolisher, but only have mechs. Accessible fairly early on too.If your Jagermech is in melee range, you're too close. There is no refit you could possibly make that makes this a good idea.
I pretty much stopped reading here, because this screams "mistake" like Lord Jaraxxus on speed. If your Jagermech is in melee range, you're too close. There is no refit you could possibly make that makes this a good idea.
Exactly. Ever since the last Mechwarrior game adopted "hard points" (which never used to be in Battletech), and now having our beloved Battletech game adopt it as well, you'll see this push to run assault mechs as much as possible, regardless of the mission type. And that's a shame. There was a lot of fun in loading up medium and heavy mechs with many multiples of the same weapon (ie: lasers) to serve up a massive punch. You didn't need all assault mechs in other Mechwarrior/Battletech games that let you do that.Honestly, not a big fan of late game 4-5 skull missions.
Fighting 5-6 Assault mechs and a whole fleet of demolishers is not exactly my idea of fun.
Kinda forces you into a FIELD AS MANY ASSAULT MECHS AS YOU HAVE mentality, which i was hoping this game would avoid.
Not true, I use this as a term of endearment.someone can write, "I hate you!" And yes it`s pretty clear what a person is writing...
You didn't see that enemy Victor with the lostech ECM pick up the vehicle, jump up there, and place it back down?Indeed. So vicious some units even do supernatural stuff to get a bit of advantage!
