The following is the typical melee and DFA of all 'Mechs by tonnage:

They may say 'Mechs have no quirks... but... below is the list of 'Mechs that differ from this standard melee damage. This is only applies to melee damage; melee instability and both DFA damage & stability are always consistent by tonnage.

Unrelated note: This was posted previously at https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...-any-other-name-would-smash-as-sweet.1073707/ but due to a forum bug (described here https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...-19-2018-no-longer-show-up-in-search.1090246/) it and many other posts around the same period of time no longer showed up in search results. Since this bug has not been resolved in the subsequent months I'm just re-posting this to make it searchable.

Ha. I just made this table (and look through all the chassis json files) about 2 hours ago to get this info.

But it makes sense.
Mechs with no arms / battlefists should not be able to melee as well as Mechs with arms/hands.
Hunchback, Shadow Hawk, Awesome and Dragon in lore do say that they are great brawlers.

With that said some Mechs (with hands) that should be changed are the
Quickdraw at 55 range of Vindicator and less than a Jagermech, Catapult and Enforcer (with no hands)
Spider is also a tad low at 30; at least give it melee ability since its so lightly armed and armored.

My next change would be the stability of the mechs - all mechs are currently set at 100
but the Dragon in lore fluff is said to be very stable because of its low center of gravity and would give another reason to use the 'mech.

The devs once said that the quickdraw was made bad at melee because of some lore about them having weak ankles.

Well hmmmm, those feet (and knees) also make it more stable after a jump.

The foot assembly is also unique. The distinctive circular rotors used by the ankles make the feet highly articulated. This allows the Quickdraw to transverse slopes 12 degrees steeper than comparable BattleMechs. In addition, the advanced foot actuator provides additional stability when jumping or moving across rough or slick surfaces, such as snow, mud, or even ice.

The downside is the rotor housing is notoriously fragile and enemy MechWarriors often intentionally try to kick, stomp, or shot at it in hopes of crippling or even immobilizing the nimble machine.
