The battle sounds should change according to various factors, and would consist in melee noises at early game like melee weapons, gunshots when range units prevail, or artillery. It could change also depending of the fight proceeding when in shock phase for example or shoot phase. The sounds could be combined depending on the prevalence of these factors, and there could be arrows in shoot phase at early game, melee sounds at shock phase mixed with cavalery charge with more or less predominance of each...

That’s an excellent idea. As it is, any variety would do, current battle sounds are more annoying than immersive.

In addition to improved sounds, what about some of the ones that are now missing? What happened to the siege sound for example? When you siege now it just sounds like a couple guys walking around with some flames in the background. You don't hear the artillery (when cannons are used) firing like you did in EU3 and when EU4 was first released.

I already suggested a similar idea :

Yep, that would be nice. Currently, anytime I'm in the siege window - I can't help but think it's broken. The sound you hear doesn't resemble a siege at all. I'd love cannon sounds to return (why are they gone anyway, is it a bug?) and trebuchets (as you suggested) before artillery is researched.

Cannon were already used as siege artillery before 1444 so no trebuchet sound needed.
