Churchill was one of the few near the top in Britain during the early years of WWII that kept Britain in. It's a definite possibility that if he hadn't been in charge that Britain would have made peace. :)

France will have a tough time.. In the Italian AAR, Germany managed to defeat France, despite driving right through Maginot. If the AI can do that with relative ease, I don't see why it would be all that difficult to accomplish it yourself. ;) It will take very careful actions on the part of a French player to prevent his armies from being destroyed by what are bound to be superior German ones. Organization and close air support may very well make the difference. ;)

Many a historian firmly states france of may1940 lost in the actuallity 1917.

It changed there doctrine and national abherence to war forever. The maginot line was a great lemon.

As a human player i fully expect to be able to hold my own vs germany. Well hope anyway :D 2 years of build up isnt a lot however.

Allie with poland and slovakia, suck up to spain and pommie land. Combined force vs germany in '38 should be a great result. Hammer and anvil :D

yes, seems to be just a misunderstanding. you`re right, the decisions of the french high command were not that bright, but saying "france lost because they were stupid. France lost because they were france" is stretching it a bit, don`t you agree? your post just "generalized" "french" stupidity. now you`re talking about de Gaulle, who made some bright moves. if that`s your opinion, you should have made it clear, instead of talking about "stupid", as you called them, frenchmen.

good - the matter was resolved without needing Admin intervention.

It appears there was a misunderstanding on both sides. Both learnt a little from it :)

Sorry if my post caused any ruffled feathers ... (as one bird to another ...)
I do enjoy provoking the French but I was also genuinely interested in the proposition, and some good answers came out of it.

Good to see that most of these little spats sort themselves out amicably.

Yep - it is nice when mature people can come to an amicable understanding :)
