Was about to report the same thing...

I too noticed it was available in Windowed mode (noticed while I was looking for a fullscreen window mode, this should also be a thing).

Should be noted, as a workaround, you can as noted selected 3440x1440 when in windowed mode. If you disable windowed mode again it does stay in 3440x1440, even if the dropdown now says something else.

EDIT: Nevermind, you might trick the game in to running at 3440x1440 in fullscreen, the UI is as noted by OP messed up which pretty elements layered above buttons making them unclickable (first Next button in campaign)...

Greetings all,

Can someone point me to the game resolution file, accidently selected the wrong resolution and now can't see or select the 'confirm' button to change it back. It's off screen somewhere. Is there a config. file to put the resolution back to the starting selection?

Solved: (for now) Just set the desktop to the games default 1920 x 1080 while it's up and plays great.
- All buttons visible and selectable.

Thanks,
9erRed

Same problem here. 21:9 widescreen monitor running 3440x1440. Despite reading on the steam forum that some people have it running at this resolution, the 3440x1440 option is not present in the graphics settings dropdown list.

The 21:9 formats and the associated UI issues that other people seem to be having with widescreen make the game unplayable (eg dialogue buttons being displayed off-screen and thus are unclickable etc).

I'm a huge BattleTech fan and really want to play this game, as well as really hoping I have don't have to jump through steam's clunky/haphazard refund system, but the steam refund window is 2 weeks, and they are strict with this. If the game is still unplayable for this reason near the end of the 2 week refund window, I'll have no choice but to refund and consider repurchase if/when the issue is addressed.

Sounds promising .. can you support that statement with a link to where they said this?

I like your name. Also, this is the latest they've said about it:

Regarding Screen Resolutions / Aspect Ratios
It has come to our attention that there is confusion regarding supported video resolutions for BATTLETECH.

Here are key points to note about the system:

- BATTLETECH officially supports the following aspect ratios:
  • 16 : 9
  • 16 : 10
  • 8 : 5

“16 : 9ish” aspect ratios
  • 85 : 48
  • 683 : 384
  • 221 : 124

- In fullscreen mode, we automatically filter the available resolutions list to display only supported resolutions based on the aspect ratios above.

- In windowed mode we provide access to all resolutions your active monitor supports. However, in unsupported aspect ratios, the interface layout may render the game unplayable. Our dropdown list does not call out the difference between supported and unsupported resolutions in this case, so we understand how this could lead to confusion.

- We have successfully tested the game up to 5K resolutions (5120 × 2880). Warning:Resolutions above 1920x1080 risk framerate issues or other performance problems depending on your hardware configuration.

- To run in borderless windowed mode:
1. In the game’s Video Settings Menu, check the Windowed Mode box then close the game
2. Right-click the game on your Steam library and go to “Properties”
3. Click on “Set Launch Options…”
4. Write “-popupwindow” and click OK
4a. For those not using Steam - just add “-popupwindow” to the target line of the game's shortcut

- If you find yourself in a state where the game is not rendering at all or in a resolution where the UI does not allow you to change resolutions, restart the game holding the ALT key (option key on Mac) and the Unity graphics settings menu will appear before the game starts, allowing you to reset to a supported resolution.

- We have no timeline for expanded aspect ratio support at the moment.

Stickied post on the Steam forums for game. (Would link but can't remember rules for linking to external forums)

I played for a bit in 3440x1440 - thought I was fullscreen but must've been something else.
It was fine except it chopped off the bottom of some menus.
You can definitely do it, you just need to know when to press "enter" because you can't see the buttons for certain menus :)
